Who are not going to play Diablo Immortal when it is out?

Please post here if you are not going to play Diablo Immortal no matter what.

Just want to see how many of you guys can uphold your claim and oath in case some of you guys end up posting (or discussing) in the Immortal forum in the future or play Immortal.

I think I can uphold my claim of not playing it :stuck_out_tongue: My mobile doesnt run it…
But to be fair, even if it could I hate mobile games…

I won’t play it. No need of playing a pay 2 win in a ridiculuous small screen in order to give Blizzard all my personal data to sell it.

I want Immortal to have boats. Give me boats Immortal devs.

Oh I definitely won’t play it.
But that doesn’t mean I won’t be in its forums cluttering up the place talking about D3 or some other unrelated junk.

I mean Diablo Immortal trash is all over the D3 forums its fair time for some balance I say.

Is it available on PC?
Sure, i’d try it, wouldn’t we all?

Is it handheld only? Like, a phone?
Ewww! Ewww like moldy potatoes you forgot about and grabbed the bag and got up close and personal to it and then you have to wash your hands and the area that bag was resting and it sucks!

IF they wanted handheld push, why wouldnt they make it for switch so we could at least play it not handheld and have that choice? More ppl have a cellphone than a switch, like, way more? Oh ok yea makes sense, but it also does not make sense, because Diablo is a PC game, ported to Console, then now ported to phone, and in this case phone exclusively (i think? or did they put it on switch which still doesn’t take back the phone encouraging lifestyle they’re going for?).

They went the wrong direction, instead of making Diablo PC only back to how 1 and 2 where, where 3 was PC and Console, a very unliked design restriction for veterans of the series, they doubled down the wrong direction by going phone and phone only at the same time same game.

Nobody wants to play it tho bc its diablo 3 at it’s core so a game about group comps and scaling greater rifts instead of a very, very, very deep loot hunt and build planning, gauged by static difficulties determining if a build ‘wins’ or not. Throw in a whole bunch of bright color where it’s smart, an unreal soundtrack, fx, graphics that fit, and that’s diablo 2. Ignore bots, group play after leveling, and exp leeching. And of course way overpowered outlier runeword builds like check my spirit crystal on level 25 i beat diablo 2? builds.

Blizz, allll this time and money, and people, minds, thoughts, could of gone into boosting Diablo 4’s dev quality. You cant split something up like resources and pitch that as no opportunity cost.

Wack decisions Blizz…
But what else is new, in case you did not know, this is a major reason why ppl are like not into the future of diablo, maybe some of these people would of been more aware of Diablo 2 and how well that game was designed, and suggested slowing down D4’s pretty much already decided core, since itemization is already pitched, in alpha, and its only been a year, and core-level-pitches don’t change much w blockbuster games.

Then again tho, they are working on a Diablo 3 derivative, for a phone, by choice, so, would those people really of been like “Hey wait lets pay attention to how diablo 2 did things instead of compromise 2 and 3 into some mess of a system to please both political parties”. We’ll never know. We do know the money put into D immortal would only be wise for Diablo 4 if the returns go towards Diablo 4 instead of those who worked on D immortal, which is like, unlikely. Nobody wants a phone game blizz…it was a fad, just like group texts, social media, youtube spoiling video games if you let it, playing pvp games when youtube and social media is this strong, if you value being an individual and not following the crowd and not-losing. Like, online pvp, youtube, they can’t coexist, unless you enjoy meta, which is like not that many people who grew up playing games before youtube destroyed self thinking.

Don’t give into tech to make money, do the right thing and make an anti-tech game, an anti-bubble game, like an oldschool PC game that caters to things youtube cannot influence, like drop rates, or AI behavior, or random-map-generation, and not things like skill choices, stat allocation, and certainly set bonus and weapon scaling, or dominant affixes never being competed with or swapped out of the game.

Phone gaming is so phone, phone is so not phone its computer with phone capability, don’t encourage or reward those who spend time on their phone constantly. Life is not lived on a phone, but our phones go with us, our computers did not. Like, the ethical thing to do is to encourage non tech life, so, make a PC game to reward free time, and discourage mobile tech use to help people do things besides being on their phones which is much easier to do than being on your PC. It’s like D immortal phone gaming is so cash grab, so anti-good-for-humans, its all about phone. Meaning mobile computer with a phone button that sometimes gets used, less and less each month.

Just bc it sells doesnt mean its right. Its like, polluting the lifestyle-environment because it makes money. I’d rather talk to someone whos not on their phone playing diablo immortal when im not at home. Now you just encouraged more phone time amongst a society plagued by smartphones. Not cool!

When he said “don’t u have phones” its like yea, and that sucks doesn’t it because the world is catering to smartphones? It isn’t a phone first, that’s why it sucks. “Having phones” is like a twist on saying “Don’t you have computers in your pocket that order heavy furniture on amazon in 2 seconds that someone with a job not dominated by tech has to manually carry across busy intersections with most likely cell phone carrying drivers who aren’t using the phone part of that phone?”.

“Don’t u guys have pcomb?”
“Yea, i got a 45 life pcomb u got like 20 high runes?”
“No i mean personal computer, not pally combat skiller grand charm from diablo 2 with perf life”
Oh, 'P-comp?"
“Yea”
Oh ok, he should of said “You guys don’t have P-comps?!” instead of “phones” like what a pitch that was trying to call smartphones a phone-first. Yea, 5-10 years ago they were. It’s basically Amazon app first, then smartphone, then phone? Like he should of said “don’t u guys have an Amazon app in your pocket that is attached to this device that sends group texts, hits up social media, finds directions, takes pics everywhere, videos everywhere, dates for you, feeds your dog and you, receives political spam-texts and calls, and like sometimes makes a phone call in dire need?”. That would of been a way better delivery on stage, it would of been like accurate to what happened to our phones. You want to encourage more time on a device that does all of that, and more? I don’t know if that’s so appropriate moving forward Blizz…we’re supposed to like, align up with that idea and play Diablo Immortal? What if we’re against smartphone overuse and smother? Don’t buy the game, but still be affected by those who do bc it’s not an at-home only game?

Like, “having phones” as he put it is basically a dis.
Its like “yea, guilty, it sucks, i wish we were connected by actual phones that didnt have internet and just had single text and slow internet that is useable in needs basis not efficiency basis”.

Like 2010 or so. “phones” worked then. Nobody got in text fights in 2005.
Nobody hit “mad? block for life no words about why” button thinking that’s mature way to handle conflict. So yes we HAVE phones, and don’t like it because they aren’t really phones anymore, and they’re ruining our lifestyle, under the illusion they’re improving our lifestyle.

By creating Diablo immortal, you are encouraging non-phone use of a phone.
Not cool, not smooth, not mature. You had an opportunity as a major-mic’d up influencer based on your past developers to take a stand against mobile gaming, mobile this, mobile that, and straighten life back to normal. But you didnt…for money. And u used Diablo as the brand for that…of all things. Like could that not of been any other game (besides hearthstone too) for this 2018-era mobile crusade? Like you announced your political stance on mobile phones also known as personal computers with a little phone button sometimes, and it’s so pro-“phone”.

That’s the takeaway from d immortal: you like majorly are into ‘mobile computer use’ and are encouraging it upon the world by making this game for them. Eww. Big eww. Go lay in your bedding of iphone 12’s and droids and smell the batteries and souls they trapped like dolls under the porch! Pour 5g in your coffee in the morning. It’s all wack, someone’s probably going to get into an accident bc they were D-immortaling instead of driving safely. Now, you could still make this a “right thing to do”, a society-boosting move, by bugging D-immortal sometime soon before it launches so it bricks after 12 minutes of play, and add a message like “gotcha! get off your phone, get back to work, work before play, drive/walk/move safe, don’t look at this” but I get it, it’s a risky thing to do, even if it’s the right thing to do.

Blizz, you’re also releasing a “mobile” game in a “not-mobile, at-all, world” assuming we behave and at least try to respect what happened disease-wise. Yea? I mean, what are you saying by this? Like, here’s a mobile game, but, don’t really be mobile about it, just play it on your computer desk or couch and pretend your phone is your gaming rig, you can plug in the same speakers, well wait you can’t bc iphone’s nixed the aux, but you can get a dongle…sick bro, i know. Like, who buys a phone game in a “don’t leave your house unless you have to or can’t take it anymore” world? Who buys a phone game at all big city folks w office jobs and use their smartphone, often? That’s not who Diablo 2 catered to, and look how well that has turned out (on year 21 now). Mobile gaming was a fad, so is mobile switch, but switch is less of a fad bc switch has actual buttons and it’s battery isn’t shared with talking.

From, mom. Thanks.

How are you going to verify this?

(BTW - Don’t count me. Since 2018, I knew I will be playing it when it comes out)

Fair enough. I like your honesty.

I don’t think it will be difficult if this thread didn’t get deleted when Immortal is released.

Poster A at Diablo 3 Forum: I won’t play Immortal!

Poster A at Immortal Forum: Guys, power level plzzz.

or something like that.

I won’t be playing it. But I’ll still be reading up on it and watching videos of the game’s campaign to know it’s lore and it’s connection and influence to the lore of the Diablo franchise.

However you won’t see me discussing character balance and such on immortal forums.

Thanks but no thanks. Pc or console only.

If it runs on my iPad, I may play through it while on the can or something for the sake of the lore and the story. If it doesn’t, well, I’m not getting a new device to play it.

Slightly modified question:
For those that aren’t going to play D:I because it is Mobile Only, Who would play it if it was offered on PC/Mac/Console?

Who still wouldn’t play it because of … ? (Eg MTX)

I will not be playing it but I am interested in the lore so I can just get that from YouTube. :desktop_computer: :desktop_computer: :desktop_computer:

It was made for mobile. The graphics aren’t 4k like d4 will be.

Ain’t touching it without an emulator.

I would give it more of a try.
My primary issue with Diablo Immortal is the control scheme. Get rid of that, and it seems like it would be a lot better already.

Next problem is of course its pay-to-win design.

I’m not going to play it, phones are too expensive, I don’t want to get sucked into a high end game for a phone and then have to get the latest model phone because the performance is crappy on mine. Games make the battery performance drop like a rock, then some fruity company reduces the performance to “keep it stable”.

It’s not just Diablo Immortal, it’s all high end smartphone games… I don’t play them.

Me, because phone games frankly hurt my fingers and drain my battery. Its not a principle thing.

  1. I don’t have a mobile phone.
  2. I have no interest in playing a phone game via an android emulator.

Hard pass from me.
