While waiting for D4

As the title suggest, like many players I’m waiting for the next episode, I’m still not sure about what platform to use, I always been on PC but as cross platform as been mentioned but not confirmed, I keep an eye on XBox because keyboard & mouse can be use as controller.

When D:I has been announced, my biggest disappointment was the cinematic trailer, I couldn’t help but look at how stupid the demons looked, the mobile gaming aspect wasn’t that an issue.
I didn’t pay ‘‘much’’ attention at everything said about microtransactions or pay2win, because I have a r-l friend who play this kind of game and it’s far from Blizzard’s ideology.
But still, time changes, so from time to time I went take a look at various source, forums, streamers on YouTube, (…) and I found out that I was almost 100% right.
The part where I have been wrong is that the microtransaction doesn’t sell directly power but lead to it, once again I don’t bother much about it, I don’t care about the leaderboards, even though I got many character ranked this doesn’t make me want to play a game.
For someone who like e-sports, well that’s not going to happen with D:I, because high ends will look like $-sports

Besides, almost all of the content is free to play on D:I, the way I see monetization is nothing more than a way to make a game alive and dynamic, more players, more patches to add content & fix.
More than a decade ago I paid a WoW subscription for around 30 months, (yes I bought WoW because I was tired to wait for D3) this make me realize that D:I have a better monetization system than WoW.
If I get a week with too much work to invest time into a video game, I pay nothing, the week after I can, if I want, put $5 in D:I

  • I know that some players can spend hundreds of $, I don’t judge but don’t understand them

Here I’m not trying to sell D:I, it’s just that every friends I have in my friend list are most of the time offline, but I can see that they are active on their mobile, as most of them are hardcore gamers it’s not hard to figure out what they are doing with their phones.

Is anyone here intend to give a try on D:I while waiting for D4 ?

If I can run it on my phone or iPad, sure. It will keep me amused when I am at the laundry mat, or anywhere that I am waiting for something (Dr. appointment, etc).

ok wyatt cheng. 20 chars.

Not me thank you anyway Wyatt.

Why do you have a problem with a mobile time waster, as opposed to a home time waster?

It is just a video game - it isn’t anything important.

I got rid of my cell phone because I can’t use it for TANs. So it has lost its value almost completely. And the monitoring and the whole interpretation on any control mechanisms that you want to bring in about it… no thanks… pure self-protection again without living. Costs way too much anyway…

Therefore no Diablo Immortal, but honestly… I don’t play games on such things anyway, because it’s just no real fun… way too small and I need the quiet of my home to really dive…

I’m basically not waiting for D4, I’m waiting for real RPGs again that aren’t as cluttered as today’s and way too fast.
I’m currently playing Might and Magic 7 again with rogue/monk/priest on the side of the good guys… Am already level 36 and as soon as I find another 2nd roll of invisibility, I’ll go to the mist walls so I can learn light magic and to advance the story^^. But first to Nighon to the sorcerers and for that through the dwarf tunnel full of mean mobs  Without elemental mage you have so his ways to run and have to use more all the options of the game, which is also fun.

Personally I won’t be playing Diablo Immortal, but I’ve no intention on condemning anyone who have interest in it. That said, I do intend to look into it on youtube, lore purposes.
