Here we go again, every time with the PTR ‘When does it start? When does it start? When does it start?’

For new players - they never give exact start times for the PTR, like they do for seasons. Some ‘oops’ may come up at last minute. It will start sometime during the afternoon, Pacific time (as of this moment it is 6:40 a.m. there). Even if patch notes do download that does not mean the PTR server has been turned on, yet. Patience, Grasshopper.

That is because it will most likely start later in the day. Patch download and PTR start time are not the same.

Don’t be surprised if we see more of these threads today every PTR and season just like a broken record.

Also for new PTR players - if you do the PTR transfer option, don’t come to the forums and report a bug that your seasonal heroes didn’t transfer. They are converted to non-season. If you want to do the seasonal PTR you have to create a new seasonal PTR toon. It acts just like it would when starting a new season.

that i did not know…i only played the first ptr and i dont even remember which patch it was.

Its 7am pacific. Blizzard Albany time is 10am. Usually they are released mid to late afternoon pacific time.

PTR normally starts late morning or earlish afternoon Pacific time. There is no exact start time. It is just whenever the QA team gets it going.

Keep a few things in mind:

  • There is ONE PTR server for the global audience and it is in California. This may result in lag for those in other Regions, and login queues/game creation queues.
  • The capacity limits on the PTR are set by QA for testing reasons. It is not like Live realms where it accommodates everyone.
  • The PTR is for testing only - it can be up or down at will based on what QA needs with no warning.
  • You get one copy from your Live account to the PTR every 24 hours. That copy uses your archive save that rollbacks use and can be hours or even days older than you actual Live progress.
  • Everything on the PTR stays on the PTR. You keep nothing.

You need to make this a new thread so the new people do not ask the same questions over and over and over.

  • Or better yet the CMs should make one at the top of the page. I know we get some people who do not bother to read anything before they post the same questions over and over. But at least they could not say they did not know if it is from the CMs at the top of the page.

Where is no patch update yet. Launcher and PTR client shows the version 2.7.0 (with different build from live)

That reasoning didn’t work with Mrs Meteor for what I got up to in Vegas…

Please note: I’ve never even been to Vegas. This is all in the comedy font.
