Which seasonal theme would the WD benefit from most?

So I’m planning on playing Wiz in the Ethereal season and then Barb when Crucibles is repeated.

But it’s been a long time since I’ve played WD and am very much interested in gearing one up to take back to NS in a future season.

Which seasonal theme do you guys think WDs would benefit from the most?

I have no idea. If you’re planning for a non season WD I would just use the seasonal wiz to get the Altar, a lot of paragon points, farm a lot of mats and stuff from visions and GRs etc. And then, during the season, start a fresh wd that could benefit of all the things your wiz has acquired. Pretty soon that wd would be able to farm efficiently by itself and be ready for non season.

I have never tried but as I have read, I want to say it is Sanctified items from Angelic Crucibles Season. The Sanctified Haunt is pretty powerful and favored by many. After realizing that Witch Doctors are powerless in this Season but Necromancers are overtuned, the according changes have been made after S27 PTR feedback and stood that way ever since.

This Ethereal Season is not half bad for Witch Doctors either. Besides Manajuma’s related builds not much gets impacted by the existence of Ethereals. All Witch Doctor related Ethereals also give 200% specific skill damage bonus to a single category. This bonus is consistent than most damage multipliers you can have, and more abundant than what other classes had on their Ethereals.
Even the insignificant ability of picking up health globes increasing your movement speed on Ethereal Gidbinn, can be an excuse to abuse Gruesome Feast passive. So you can use Rakoff’s Glass of Life instead of equipping Squirt’s and turning yourself into pure glass cannon.

The builds to watch out for will be:

Zunimassa + The Gidbinn

  • +200% dmg to Voodoo Skills (Fetish Army)

Jade Harvester + Ghostflame

  • +200% dmg to Secondary Skills (Haunt & Locust Swarm)

Mundunugu + Arioc’s Needle

  • +200% to Decay Skills (Spirit Barrage)
  • +1% to Maximum damage per Paragon Level up to 800

Helltooth “Teddy Bears” + Arioc’s Needle

  • +200% to Decay Skills (Zombie Charger)
  • +1% to Maximum damage per Paragon Level up to 800

Oh man… that looks pretty tasty indeed.

Considering this season I’ll be finishing off my house build and moving, I’ll probably stick with Wiz still as I don’t see myself playing much.

Next crucibles season I’ll be playing Barb, but the next ethereals season I’ll probably play WD. I might do Necro for the next soul shards season… that class needs a little love and the gear needs improvement.

Zunimassa + The Gidbin = Fetish Army (Legion of Daggers) for pew pew lil’ fellas build.
Helltooth + The Gidbin = Gargantuan (Restless Giant) for go go lil’ derpies smash build.

I am going to do those two first, then test out other builds for the other two ethereals.

I forgot that I looked up previous builds for season 24 since I missed that season and one was the for the WD using Ghostflame to boost Secondary Skills with the Helltooth set. The build will revolve around using Grasp of the Dead (unbreakable grasp). With the off hand Wilken’s Reach.
