It’s almost 3 months to the day now since our last quarterly update and am feeling antsy. I guess I would have wanted it on a Friday so I was hoping today…
they said end of june
Well that’s not really quarter, it’s a third but okay, was this on twitter or the previous blog post and I missed it?
It might have something to do with the world stopping for a month.
Most likely they have nothing to show, as in the last update.
They tried to turn a totally secondary issue into something important and were severely criticized.
Q1 = January 1st to March 31st
Q2 = April 1st to June 30th
Q3 = July 1st to September 30th
Q4 = October 1st to December 31st
As long as the blog releases are within those dates, they’re quarterly updates.
Quarterly doesn’t mean every three months.
Thanks MB, simple math and reasoning is all it takes.
lol…careful Avalon; best to assume people on the internet are practically John Snow when it comes to those two things.
True we even have one person on the forum who might fall off of the flat earth, the forum would not be the same without him.
I hope the next update has some good stuff in it.
“Ongoing communication” doesn’t mean that they have a commitment to give you anything on a tight schedule.
Some people will always find ways to defend blizzard for their ignorance. Personally I don’t think they are open about the development process at all as they promised. There is no communication whatsoever. I would at least expect them to have people on the forums replying to our questions like these, posting smilies or whatnot suggesting their presence or that they are at least trying but instead, they are completely absent and only come out of hiding once every 4 months to “reveal” some lazy last minute “developer update” like their latest science breakthrough on how playing on TV is different than PC and their decision to “bring back” the center bottom UI for PC … where all PC gamers would expect it to be in the first place.
Your D4 update is in quarantine.
No worries. When it is ready to be announced it will be so!
lol.
It’s not like any company is obligated to be open about their development process. Even if you think they aren’t communicating, the fact is that we know far more about D4 right now than we ever knew about D1 or D2, or even most games in general now.
Why, when it’s been answered elsewhere?
As I said, some people will always find ways to defend them. I didn’t say that I expect them to share development process details but rather engage in conversations and answer the simplest of questions that are no longer a secret anymore like this one. I know they said that we can expect the next update in June. I too follow them on Twitter. They briefly mentioned in on a reply and that was their entire communication so far since their first developer update. We used to have Nevalistis who would at least tell us how difficult it is to write the article and translate it to multiple languages and how many people it would involve to film a clip of frozen cannibals “fighting”. Now we get nothing.
The new Community Development Lead just started with them this month, he is looking for some CMs. If you think you can do better, fill out an application.
Oh, really?
You’re going to have to explain how you thinking they aren’t talking about the development process enough doesn’t mean you don’t expect more about the development process.
Good luck with that.
Ah, if only it were permanent remote position.
Would you really want the position, knowing that you would have to deal with complainers everyday. People who think that they are “all that and a bag of chips.” You would have the D2 fanboys complaining that D4 is not D2. You would have the fault finders complaining about everything under the sun. You would be limited on what you could say, and some whiners would take it out on you personally, just like they did with Brandy.
