Be sure to keep the damaged portion of Fist of the Heavens at least at the same level it is now.
Why is set causing issues with the leader boards?
The two-piece and the six-piece bonus significantly raised the damage floor of the skill, Heavens Fury, from an effective 100x multiplier (legacy of dreams) to an effective 1600x damage bonus.
And while the 2 piece bonus could be removed with no ill effect on the secondary skill in this set, nerfing the 6 piece bonus would flatten the damage from the already much weaker FotH skill.
What I propose would be something similar to what others have suggested, ie swapping the skills in the two-piece bonus so that Heavens Fury receives an 87.5% reduction to damage output, while Fist of the Heavens, without the damage scaling modifier seen on Shield of Fury, receives a bonus to damage when Heavens Fury is active.
Either way, this multiplicative 2 piece bonus is at the heart of what’s wrong with the set IMO, and while this set should absolutely receive an overall damage reduction, it could be an opportunity to add a little power to the FoTH aspect of the set.
Actually you didnt get it, problem is crusader shield (Shield of Fury) which increases Heaven’s Fury damage by 30% everytime you hit enemy with it. So you can stack insane amount of dmg boost on same enemy.
I don’t have the knowledge to make a specific recommendation. I just want to chime in with Don’t undo all of your progress and ruin the set completely like you’ve been doing to barbs for years. Thanks.
This was the analysis and recommendation givdn when they leaked the set updates at BlizzCon. This calculation doesn’t even factor in CC3 or the extra legendary gem with AoV.
Let’s say LoD CDR version has a ceiling of GR130, this is possible today with a real good map and 7k+ paragon. Using LoD as a comparison, I’ve converted the damage to Aegis of Valor as follows:
2.04x gain from AoV 6pc bonus
2x gain from Endless Walk
8x gain from 2pc Bonus ???
12.5% penalty from 20% less elemental damage
28.56x which is roughly 21 GRs or GR151
If we assume 2pc bonus is really means 300%
2.04x gain from AoV 6pc bonus
2x gain from Endless Walk
4x gain from 2pc Bonus ???
12.5% penalty from 20% less elemental damage
14.28x which is almost 17 GRs or GR147
Although survival sucks, it’s brokenly over powered and needs tuning.
RECOMMENDED FINAL TWEAKS
Heaven’s Fury is not really balanced with FotH from a legendary item standpoint, Darklight needs a little more power since the Khassett’s Cord belt wasn’t touched. FotH needs about 2GRs. And to ensure good a synergy with an eventual Akkhan 6pc buff, I recommend these numbers:
Darklight gets buffed to 1200%.
The 2pc should enhance both skills: Heaven’s Fury AND FotH.
2pc stacks 3 times for a 300% (4x) multiplicative damage.
So 140x multiplier nerf is what you call for? Isn’t better route is to separate foth from hf in 6 piece and set foth at 25000 not touching darklight and set hf for like 8-10 k
I think what I’m afraid of is that they’ll do something stupid like nerfing the 6 piece bonus, which really isn’t what’s causing the issue right now.
Yes, but before new changes was HF* weak. Originally: 2 - set pieces
The charged bolts from Fist of the Heavens has a chance to cast another Fist of the Heavens 6 - set pieces
Increase the damage of Fist of the Heavens and Heaven’s Fury by 10,000%
Now 6p is 20000% = 2x dmg for HF*, and 2 piece stacks 100% dmg for HF* 3 times and its multiplicative, 300% means 4 times more dmg. So now with use of that old Crusader shield is HF* insane dmg dealer and its used as wrath spender - with every hit you increase dmg to same target by 30% and while using dagger you can count with 2.5 attacks per second, so every second you incerase HF* dmg by 75%.
the skill order should be swapped:
Attacking with Heaven’s Fury increases Fist of the Heavens damage by 100% for 5 seconds, stacking up to 3 times multiplicatively (2 pieces)
This way Heaven’s Fury build will not be too op and fist of heavens build will become one of the top build
What i am proposing is additional power to FotH and less to Heaven’s Fury.
Looking at the current state of Darklight and Aegis of Valor here is the result:
+1GR from 18% damage buff to Darklight
+9GRs from inclusion of FotH on AoV’s 2pc @ 300%
-7GRs from reduction of the AoV’s 6pc set bonus to 6000% (-69.65% power) +3GR power gain for FotH
This was suggested, but… our good friend Jay pointed out that the buff would drop off if using the Heaven’s Fury on cooldown, aka Blessed Ground, Ascendancy, etc.
You’d need 75% CDR to keep that 2pc buff up full time. If they made the buff last 10 seconds, you’d only need 50% CDR, which is more reasonable.
And thus I addressed the damage bonuses to HF from the set, which have been the only things to change.
Specifically, the 2 piece bonus, which is a multiplicative bonus (2x 2x 2x = 8x or 700% damage bonus)
yes, just bring back the old 2 piece bonus. especially since it actually did something unique, i was actually looking forward to the chain reaction. Now the set just has you use the regular version of both skills and while it’s nice to see heaven’s fury included, it doesn’t need to be the primary damage dealer. the 20000k is enough.
I said this on another post and we talked about the math in depth where I said the 2 set was to strong. My solution is simple if they can manage it change the 2 set to read when casting fist of the heavens your heavens fury will additionally cast at the targeted location.
Donmartin there were many people in crusader chat that seen DMKT and myself do the math on it and it turned out exactly how we were projecting it would. The build was stronger then anything I have ever done math on damage wise. I am a long time crusader who has waited 18 seasons for this build but trust me when I say the build would be fine without the 2 set. It would still see clears into the 140s.
So do I but we also have to be realistic, get it somewhere where its not under the gun by every other class in the game and lets just buff up together. Then let the best player win which usually is high paragon players that you cant balance around anyways.
