You will have to wait for D4 or search for another similar game. I hear POE is like that. I don’t know myself since I haven’t played it. Downloading a game twice taking 8 hours to do so doesn’t sound like my kind of game either.

I mean considering that neither Diablo 1 nor 2 is free (as far as I know of anyway), I don’t see Diablo 3 being free anytime soon.

Diablo 3 will never be free. Diablo 2+LoD is 20 years old and it still goes for $20. Diablo is and has been a game that you pay for once and you can play as much as you want. Keep an eye on the Blizzard store for sales especially closer to the holidays, you might be able to score Diablo 3/RoS for cheap.
If you want free, go check out the freemium games available on Epic or Steam. HOWEVER, a large majority of these games intentionally slow or even halt your progress through the game in order to get you to spend money.

Some free games are really top tier (Warframe for example). As a general rule they do tend to be hit or miss though.
Well i played POE in Early stages and it was very good. What is wrong about POE in current versions?

I honestlly think D3 would be more profitable as a F2P game with a Cosmetic Shop. There are plenty of games out there as an example where the income of the game are purely just Cosmetics/Skins, and a lot of people like buying Cosmetics and Skins to look cool and/or cute, to be different looking than others. D3 can also include things like transmogs, pets, sigils, banners, portraits, wings, stash tabs, character slots, anything that doesnt really affect the character’s damage or toughness, purely just cosmetics. D3 should just go F2P and have a Cosmetic Shop to earn more income to implement more content into the game.
I heard they have plan to make Diablo 3 by no later than 2049!

So lemme get this straight. Diablo 3 has been out for 8 years and u still havent bought it? I mean that would make sense if u were never going to buy it, but waiting for it to be released for free is a pretty terrible idea all things considered.
