When is your character 'done'?

When you stop having fun?

That means Season is done . Anything past getting guardian is just DERP DERP DERP GR GR GR… No thanks

My main seasonal character is never done, will play it till the end of the season. There is always a chance to keep upgrading the gear, even if its small incremental upgrades. Gain a few more gr’s, or a few more paragons. If I end the season early, usually it’s when friends disappear and groups get harder to find. This time around, not enough friends bothered to play the season. For me, there was nothing exciting about this season. The follower changes are nice enough, but not enough to hold my interest for the whole season. Ended up taking my time and just finishing up the season journey. Took under a week, and just called it a season.

Sounds like big talk to me. Average in 7 min maybe with good group and nice bounties. But that is one out of 100 and hes only 800 par

I think the character is done when there is no more evil to fight against.

And since a higher power constitutes authority for evil to exist in the first place, then I’d say that the higher power determines when the character is done.

Can I get an Amen-Ra?

Principal deities remain as such

In my case, I could put 3 noticeable situations that give a feeling of a milestone having been reached :

  1. Level 70 (the baseline I will want on any character)
  2. Full legendaries for the build I’ll play with it
  3. 800 Paragon points
But none of those 3 feel like the character is “done”, because I don’t feel there’s any sense of completion with a character that can switch builds like you could switch shirts.

This basically, though it usually happens once I get all ancients augmented with Lv100 gems. Depending on how much fun I’m having with a build I might push things further to 110 or more.

Edit: usually takes 2 months.

Once I start feeling tired I’ll either play a different game or read.

I’m one of those filthy casuals who kinda plays when he feels like it, but lately, I’ve been bitten by the grinding bug. I hit paragon level 800 last season, first time I’d cleared out a whole season objectives (usually I stopped after Slayer, maybe Champion).

I told myself I would go for 1000 for this one. I’m at just over 700, two achievements short of clearing it out again - so maybe by this weekend if I keep at it. Granted, there are people who got that in the first day, but they’re what I like to call “nuts”.

20,000 Paragon, full primals with perfect rolls, fully augmented.

I’ll finish the Guardian because all I really want out of this season is the pet. The longer I play, the more it becomes a repetitive grind where:
-Rewards get less rewarding - loot rains from the sky and I DE nearly all of it
-Enemies just one-shot you - being instantly killed isn’t skill-based. It’s just frustrating

I’m ok with that honestly. I hate the idea of treadmill games that just perpetuate longer and longer grinds. I see it as a form of psychological abuse to get people addicted, then keep holding out a carrot just out of reach so they keep playing. It turns a game into a Sisyphean punishment in the long run and it’s frankly not healthy.

Man, 50K bounty mats? Yeah I don’t envy you in public games for 5 hours each day, dealing with Bots, people AFK, the guy that wants to follow you around and keeps inviting himself to ALL the boss fights, or the people that stay more in town than actually do bounties. Yeah, NO THANK YOU!

PS If you do get 50K bounty mats, wouldn’t you need 250K souls?

When i’ve reach the 20k paragons. Its almost the infinity with my playtime. On seasons i’m usualy set a goal. For 23 season this goal was the reaching of the guardian… But it doesn’t mean that character done. I’ve just delete all my seasons characters when i decide to not play season anymore. But all my NS characters will stay for the end of time.

My character is done when the next game is released.

Which means my character is done April 15th. Stellaris: Nemesis!

My character is done when I go back to NS to assimilate all my good seasonal gear onto my NS character.

This season looks to be an easy one… got only ~5 pieces of gear that are improvements for my NS DH.

My character is done when I say it’s done.

I would. I’m saving the mats for non season and I got tons of stuff there.

I had the season finished in the first week, I am not a GR fisher so he might be “done” already.

  • I just have a few other things to do but mostly “done” for the season.

Still not done. I have a main and alt account that I play on all three regions (NA, EU, and Asia) to Guardian. I also play on the Nintendo Switch. (The main account I take to Guardian, the other 7 that exist on the switch, I take trough Chapter IV.) My main goal is to complete them all before the season ends, so no rush.

Generally, when I complete the Guardian + as many season challenges as I can. The latter is what I’m mostly after, I’m too old for GR grind / fish.

The rest depends on the season theme. Universal cube slots were fun; 4th cube slot was fun. This time, there is essentially no difference whether it’s season or NS.

When all im doing is farm +5 main stat and more powerful versions of the same items i already got.

Usually this happens in a couple of days at around 800 paragon.
