Noticed that the current patch version is 2.6.8.66666; which seems like a very odd version number which I do not see any record of it in the patch notes.
Yes, and no where on the home page does it list the patch 2.6.8.66666; all references to latest patch reflect 2.6.8. I am specifically referring to the trailing .66666 being very odd for a patch version.
666666 is the build number; you don’t need to worry.
You can’t launch the game if it is not the latest version. The launcher will force you to download the latest version.
If you inspect the file properties for Diablo III64.exe in the Details tab it will show 2.6.8.1130. It is intended for file properties build number to not match the actual build. The Battle.net app will show a different number, and in this case 66666 is what is supposed to show for the build number.
