What time is the new PTR going to start on 9/17/2024

Just want to be ready

Blizzard never gave a launch time for the PTR, so it will be live when… it will be live

Since the PTR server is located in California, it typically has gone online roughly between 11AM and 1PM local time which is about 7-9h from now.

I wasn’t going to play the PTR until they broke D4 for me. No idea what happened but I suddenly can no longer access the game. I get a “Data Retrieval Error” dialog when the game starts and get booted back to the desktop. It’s happened to a few other people but it’s not a wide spread issue so they’re unlikely to bother with it.

The last PTR is about Mac executables…
If you have some problems, report them the good thread.

Don’t know about the issue but can you do a “scan and repair” from the launcher? Or is a reinstall a possible solution?

Tried both… nothing worked. Ended up filing a ticket for all the good it’ll do. Thankfully I’ll be able to enjoy some 4th cube slot fun this week in D3 PTR

when will ptr be online?

4pm EST here. Each time I try to launch game it says a Diablo 3 has a patch that will be auto applied and when I click ok games just exits. It is patched and I even ran a scan and repair… thoughts?

It means the PTR is in the process of being deployed.

Patience.

When the version changes to 2.7.8 it will be ready to run…

I may have broken my check for updates button by now, lol

My update check script has been running for 7 hours, for 7 hours a patch has been available according to the game, but according to bnet, we are just like D4 items. :brick:

How many people here play on Mac?

Just for fun…

I sometimes do, but it’s an old 2014 one. I’ve been meaning to get a newer one.

We should all report area damage in 4 players party as performance issues. /shrug

1339 pac time. I cant start it. It tells me that a patch needs to be downloaded first and that it be downloaded automatically and then I can start playing in ptr. So, I guess that patch for download isnt ready yet?

I play on a 13 inch M1 MBAir.

I’m hoping the new patch fixes the slow inventory loading issue on macs. There is a workaround involving changing the Texture Quality but I’d rather not have to do that every time I start a new game.

it got delayed, there is a stickie comment saying they will let us know when they do

Are you referring to the “Battle.net Updates” menu item? Does this check updates for both the Battle.net and Diablo III apps?

Is there an API for checking this or are you screen scraping?

Also, once the new patch is available, do we have to restart the Battle.net app to see (and update) it, or will the updated version dynamically appear (and prompt us to do an update) while the app is running?

No. Next to the Play button when you have the Public Test Realm selected there is a gear icon, if you click that there is an option to check for updates for the PTR server specifically.

Below the Play button it lists the current version which right now shows as 2.7.7
When the update becomes available and you apply it the version will change to 2.7.8

No. IF/When the update is ready it will become available and you can update without restarting battlenet.
