What progress if any, will carry over from D3 to D4?

I’m assuming nothing given “tradition” but given the long wait I think it’d be cool if there was SOMETHING that carried over (season pets or wings maybe?).

As someone that has very much enjoyed Diablo 1, 2, and 3; I hope nothing carries over. If they want to have something purely cosmetic as a reward for owning Diablo 3, then fine but I don’t want the devs to feel limited by anything when designing Diablo 4.

Zero, most likely.

But I wouldn’t mind seeing old cosmetics that we ground for become tokens in D4. After all, it would all be from the same account.

Nothing, totally new game. Lets start fresh…

I don’t think & also not think its a good idea to carry over progress.

Maybe some cosmetic for purchase of D3 & RoS would be nice as a thank you note for supporting the franchise.

(season pets or wings maybe?).

Considering that wings is the most foolish and cartoonish thing in the game, this will be a terrible decision. So, no ofc -)

That’s about the only thing I expect. Still, wouldn’t be shocked if we get nothing.

nothing
why would they?

Don’t think anything is going over to d4. Let alone be d4. NO wings and pets.

Why would anything carry over? It’s a totally different game. Keep the D3 gimmicks in D3. Maybe they could do something for players who already have RoS, like give us options for the mount.

  • Anyone who is new to the Diablo franchise when D4 comes out will receive a basic mount. :horse:
  • Anyone who has RoS when D4 comes out can pick a custom mount from a pool.

Decard’s head trophy.

As some others had already stated, none of your progress from Diablo 3 (as in paragon, gold, items, skills, achievements, cosmetics, etc.) would carry over, or make impact, on Diablo 4. However, there may be a cosmetic reward for Diablo 4 players for simply owning a Diablo 3 license on their account, just as there may be a cosmetic reward for Diablo 3 players who purchase Diablo 4.

Blizzard has cross games (mini) rewards like Mercy wings if you bought overwatch so giving something to D3 players isn’t in the realm of wishfully thinking.

However, I wouldn’t expect it as an entitlement but good to have.

Just keep D3 and D4 as far away from each other as possible.

Carrying over progress from D3 to D4 would be a slap in the face of every Diablo fan who didn’t like D3 and therefore didn’t play it a lot.

Amen, i hope -nothing- literally, is carried from ‘diablo’ 3 to the next diablo, i hope it’s an actual diablo game that d1/d2 fans were expecting.

and before captain braindead fanboys come in, yes i would like the expected graphical improvement with advancement in technology, and also the expected improved flow of combat, the only 2 things d3 did right, which were both to be expected given it was after 11 years difference in tech. It was the ONLY thing it couldnt possibly get wrong, unless it stuck to 1999 tech whilst being designed.

Other than the obvious, they pretty much got almost everything wrong with this, its nothing more than a arcade hack n slash that would’ve been fine, had they not used the diablo name to ride off the franchise’s success

The D2 fanboys are already in. The tone in the threads usually changes as soon as they show up.

Hopefully nothing because it won’t be compatible at all.

Most you can get from D3 would be a promotion cosmetic and a discount to D3. When D4 release I expect either WoW or D3 to have some sort of promotion whether it’s D4 for free/discount at 6 months World of Warcraft subscription or following a sale, some cosmetics in D4 when you also own D3.
