What Legendary Potion do you use? Why?

  • Bottomless Potion of the Tower ☼ increases armor.
  • Bottomless Potion of the Leech ☼ increases Life on hit
  • Bottomless Potion of the Diamond ☼ increases all resistances
  • Bottomless Potion of Regeneration ☼ heals additional fixed amount of Life over time.
  • Bottomless Potion of Mutilation ☼ increases Life per kill.
  • Bottomless Potion of Kulle-Aid ☼ allows phasing through the walls summoned by Waller / Elite monsters
  • Bottomless Potion of Rejuvenation ☼ restores a portion of maximum primary resource, but only if used when injured.
  • Bottomless Potion of Fear ☼ makes nearby enemies flee in Fear
  • Bottomless Potion of Amplification ☼ increases healing received from all sources.
  • Bottomless Potion of Chaos ☼ teleports the character away, distance depending on missing Life.
  • Bottomless Potion of the Unfettered ☼ makes the character briefly immune to Crowd Control

My personal favorite is Diamond. Always feel like I need more resist when things get dicey.

It depends on what classes you are playing.

INT classes will benefit more from armor than from the all-res potion, while DEX and STR classes will benefit more from the all-res potion.

It also can depend on the build. A fast hitting build (like UE MS DH) might prefer the potion that gives life per hit or the potion that makes you immune to CC could be useful for some builds that do not have perma-CC-immunity from 100% up-time of their ultimate.

Kulle-Aid is useful as well.

As Vyr, I use the Life on Hit potion. I don’t think the Armor or Resistance potion helps much, carrying the stacks around that I try too.

The CC immunity one and and +Resource ones are pretty tempting too.

Kulle-Aid for builds that require mobility but don’t have teleport-like ability - zBarb is a prime example of that.
Most of the other builds that I’ve played recently are fast-hitters (HoTA Barb, Vyr Wiz, DH in general) and, as clueso said, Leech works really nicely for those.

I started using the new potion that gives you all CC problems gone which includes the Kulle-aid potion effect.

I use bottomless potion of tower and chaos (just for a little irregularity).

That’s good to know about the Kulle-aid effect. I had been using Kulle-Aid on all my toons - mainly because I never use potions for healing - either I have enough life/defense/regen to survive or I don’t, but the one factor that I wanted an occasional boost with was getting out of danger, so Kulle-Aid for the bonus, but not necessarily the healing.

And now, Unfettered…

Bottomless Potion of Fear: makes nearby enemies flee in Fear. If I am down on life I want to get them off of me.

On almost all of my heroes, it’s the Leech potion, with a value as close to 20,000 as possible.

I have been using the one for increasing heal on hit. Mostly because it was the first potion I found, but it has been handy when I get into a bad mob and hit that and just swing the weapon more often.

Most of the time I use the Diamond potion though. :man_shrugging:

I always use this :

  • Bottomless Potion of the Tower - increases armor.
  • Bottomless Potion of Mutilation - increases Life per kill.

I like the 25% extra healing one on my monk.

I was using the all res one for the longest time until it occured to me that the 80 or so extra all res i get, is just giving me a little less than 1% extra mitigation for those 5 seconds.

I think it needs to be updated to a percenrage rather than a flat amount.

Most of the time I use bottomless potion of the tower. It usually easy for me to find a18+ one. Plus as a HC player I like the extra armor.

Kulle-Aid. Oh yeah!!!

Because of the the awesome flavor text! Many of the younger players won’t get it, but there was a commercial for Kool-Aid awhile back of the big pitcher of Kool-Aid busting through a wall and yelling Oh Yeah!!

For me, it’s Potion of Amplification on all my builds. It seems to me that the other potions are too specific to specific situations. Potion of Amplification is an all purpose heal. It even amplifies heals from the Templar.

I’d use the others if I was more versed in how the whole game works but when I drink a potion I’m concerned with one thing, Healing. Amplification covers the gambit of that so that’s the one I use.

Use the potion that teleports you. Chances are, if you are forced to pop a potion, you are in trouble. Healing to max but still remaining in the same spot will get you killed, most likely.

  • Bottomless Potion of the Leech ☼ increases Life on hit
  • Bottomless Potion of Amplification ☼ increases healing received from all sources.

Those are my two favorites for the reasons others have already stated. My favorite build is UE so the life on hit really shines. If I just can’t find one I’ll go with Amp.

This is not necessarily true because the armor potion gives 20% armor instead of a flat value, so it can better than 100 AR depending on your overall stats.

In my experience, at high gear level and paragon, armor potion is usually better than resistance potion even for DEX/STR classes. That being said, I don’t use them at all because I perfer Leech/Mutilation/Amplification potions.

Indeed, I saw someone explaining this in a video as well, but I didn’t want to go into that with a too long post.

As a general and simplified rule of thumb it still should work, but you are correct that it is not always the case.

this one, because i use it when mobs suddenly get me on low health while i’m at melee distance and i can keep attacking as an option
