Before Blizzcon starts and we get our big news, just wanted to see what everyone enjoyed from what we got in Diablo 1/2/3.
Diablo 3’s soundtrack got better in RoS but before then it was pretty much forgettable.
For me, it’s these two.
For the Rogue Encampment, the little remix from Heroes of The Storm in the Eternal Conflict map’s is amazing and they should implement this in a D2 remaster or an Act in D4 if it’s located in western Khanduras (the region where Tristram/Rogue/Westmarch are in). The first 25 seconds are simply amazing.
In no particular order (yes I’m all caffeined up):
Tombs
The first 20 seconds take me straight back to D2’s glory days when all I played was D2/MXL. Great memories. And the level design really made me feel like I was traversing through ancient terrain. Beautiful.
Harem
Such deliciously fitting track. Listening to that and fighting through the Harem formed images of Lut Gholein’s most glorious days.
Dungeon
Oh damn, no other piece of music evokes the name DIABLO more than this one. One of the most iconic tracks in the history of gaming.
Lut Gholein
The desert seemed to get a bad rap, but it was a unique change of scenery from the wetness of Act 1. This song is exsquisite and evokes images of the glaring hot sun and dry sand collecting in your nether regions. Love it.
I actually don’t like the Tristram theme all that much, so I won’t bother including it here. I gotta go take a leak!
BUT BEFORE I DO!!
Did you know that the main D3 overture tune is actually copy/pasted from D2 LoD’s Harrogath Siege theme??? Skip to 1:38 to hear that oh-so-familiar tune.

First 20 seconds is the best part, and it really is amazing.
It’s weird, the part where the woman starts singing I’ve heard it multiple times in other videos and tracks. But Harem is a great choice.
“The sanctity of this place has been fouled”
Diablo 1’s soundtrack was actually way more terrifying than 2’s. As much as I like 2’s better.
I think it dates back from the Diablo 1 main theme, my friend.
Go to 0:16, that tune seems familiar?
Full Diablo 2 soundtrack for me.
D2 but I guess I am looking through rose tinted glasses. Anyhow thats the one that stands out
Can barely hear anything, too low octave. The Harrogath one is far more prominent.
The entirety of Diablo 1’s soundtrack is a perfect descent into madness IMHO.
That said I also wish to offer this track from Diablo 2. I don’t think a sequel ever managed to give me a ‘Welcome Back’ hug better than this game with this track.
