What is the easiest way to move D3 to new SSD with cloned Windows OS?

Hello

Thanks in advance for any help.

I’ve googled this but results were conflicting.
What is the easiest way to move Diablo 3 from my HHD to a new SSD? I read just copy the D3 folder works but that seems too easy.

If it matters the new SSD will have a clone or mirror of my OS Windows 10 on it.

Thanks again and happy gaming!

You should just be able to copy the entire diablo 3 folder to the new location on your SSD.

Then, in the Battle net app, go to Options, then Game Settings:

Click on “Game Install/Update” and either choose the new folder by clicking “Use a Different Folder”

or click the “Scan for Games” button and click “Locate” if it doesn’t find it automatically.

TimberWolf is correct. I’ve used that process to move games from my HDD to both my SSD and my son’s SSD.

Yes, it’s pretty easy. At least we get some benefit out their DRM policy.

Hey gamers! So I found this conversation looking for basic info I can’t seem to find: Need to reinstall Win 7 so is there anything on my PC for Diablo III I need to save?

LOTS of hours invested!

As noted above, and since the Games drive will not be affected by the new OS, looks like a simple “Scan for Games” would be required after new game install?

Thanks ahead of time!

Hey there,

You won’t need to save anything for Diablo 3. All of your account and character data is saved on the Blizzard servers, so once you boot the game back up you’ll be right where you left off.

When reinstalling the Battle.net desktop app it should automatically scan for games on all the drives. If it doesn’t find it, just use Timberwolf’s info to point the Battle.net desktop app to the main game folder location.

Going to lock this up since it’s an older thread, but the info is still correct.
