What if there was a cube slot for each item slot?

Would you like this system?

I myself would enjoy it, as it allows great build diversity.

Remember to keep it civil in the debate.

For the love of god: NO !
The powercreep is already way out of hand.

Absolutely not. No. Nien. Nada. Nyet. Non. No way, no how.

How?

Being able to choose a whole a lot of options at once doesn’t bring diversity. Having a lot of options and being able to choose only some of those numerous options brings diversity.

Basically if there was possibility to choose a power from each item slot, people would only choose the most powerful option for each slot for each build.

My bad, must have thought of “Build Diversity” as something difficult.

No, no, no. :-1: :-1: :-1: :-1: :-1: :-1:

Would be really bad.

Here’s the thing, did the 4th slot in this season bring any meaningful diversity? No, it really did not. In 99% of cases it’s just more power, builds themselves are still unchanged. So how would having 13 slots of extra powers bring any more diversity?

If we are going to ride on this crazy train what about the ability to put a legendary gem in every item.

  • Bring on D4 already.

No.

You mean 13 Kanai Cube Slot?

If yes, that will be super awesome.

Some reason I was flagged for a quoted response with your post. Weird.

i think its good if ppl think its tooo much power then why not give us like t20 and gr200 or gr250 as caps and increase the lvl of our gems which are capped too except for legacy

I’m okay with it under the premise we stay at the GR150 cap and add additional torment levels up to that tier. People like to screech power creep, but let’s not pretend the game never changing and non-meta/soloists being around 130 if they play a lot is any better.

Realistically, however, it would also shine a light on how lacking various slot options are, and sometimes more specifically per-class. This also means they’re unlikely to be used even in LoN builds outside of placeholders until something better drops. In terms of potential updates, this is actually a huge pool of options to work with. It also presents a venue of unlocking growth if not all slots are available per character upon cube acquisition. As an example, excess R.Gifts could be used to unlock slots, giving them use beyond what tends to be early season growth.

Nonetheless, the kneejerk negative reaction isn’t surprising.

What next GR500 and Torment 1000? Enough of this mundane madness already. Get off of the treadmill.

  • How about something new, bring on D4. At least one D4 Dev gets it. "I don’t want to just be doing one thing over and over again in end-game."

Even if D3 team want, they can’t due to their machine limitation.

You will find there are not enough good choices for many classes.

If they only allow generic items (not class specific) for the visible item slots, I suppose it could work:

Gloves: Magefist, Frostburn, Stone Gauntlets, Tasker and Theo
Legs: Hexing, Depth Diggers
Boots: Illusory, Ice Climbers, Disregard
Chest: Aquilas, Cindercoat, Heart of Iron, Shi Mizu
Helm: Leorics, Prides Fall
Shoulders: Skeleton King, Mantle of Channeling

Mainly everyone walks around ultra tanky and with a few more elemental %.

Again this none-sense. Repeat after me : Powercreep is everything in Diablo like games.

Yes, the OP idea is bad, but that’s it. It has nothing to do with “PowerCreeps”. In fact, I tend to believe that the ones who keep saying “POWERCREEP” are mostly casuals or very causals, who are more then OK with less powercreep because they can “focus” more on killings…once in a while when they have time to play that is.

I certainly won’t. If constant power creep is essential for an ARPG, then it’s a failed design.

When a game becomes so easy that you don’t fear the possibility of death, that is a bad thing, the game becomes BORING. This all started when loot 2.0 rolled out, and it’s been getting worse ever since.

I just hope this same powercreep trainwreck doesn’t happen with Diablo 4.
