What are the ember drop rates/rules

From just my anecdotal experience it would be advantageous to combine soul shard farming with bounties. Just clear the 4 non-boss bounties in each act split farm style and then clear all of the bosses and boss bounties in each act as a group so no one misses loot/shards. It should be Ez Pz to do the above if we can get passed the greedy, lazy, trolly, and software automatons (bots).

So what are the ember drop rates and rules. Supposedly they drop any where and from anything? However, no embers thus far for me.

I’m sure you’ll get enough shards just by doings rifts and greater rifts (only if you need a specific shard it could be wise to farm specific act bosses). You’ll also get your much needed embers from rifts and GRs.

Are the embers influenced by difficulty? T1-T4 is dropping nothing.

Sounds like some are confusing shards with embers.

I read that embers have roughly the same drop rate as ram gifts. Not sure if I believe that though. Personally, I don’t get that many ram gifts each season so I hope that isn’t the case and is a bit higher.

I only recently started Seasons and got one ember on T1 so far.

Ember drop rates are pretty close to the soul shards itself, maybe just a little bit lesser.

I have found over 15 soul shards and about 12 embers from time of post, I started Season 25 about 14 hours ago.

Well, the drop rate is low for anything at these levels. You’ll get more once you can run T10, T13 and T16 and GRs at that level and higher.

It’s much higher. (Statistically speaking of course).

Is this only with a newly created seasonal character?

Not sure what you really mean. At this moment there are only newly created seasonal heroes - in my opinion :grinning:

I hope rebirthed characters are included into this category. There should be no difference.

I just hope I get ONE Ember before my whole chest is full of Shards. :expressionless: Dang my RNG must be borked, because I’ve found many, many Shards so far, but zero Embers. hmm.

Does it matter? I extremely doubt you’ll even see one before completing the season journey. That’s why I don’t even bother keeping shards. I just salvage them for free early imperials.

That’s what I’ve been doing with overflow of them. Converting to gems as needed. At some point embers have to drop, gese. Oh, one of the bosses dropped 2 (TwO) shards a few times. Yet, still no Embers. lol…

Yeah Azmodan dropped 2 different shards at T3, I was like lvl40. All I get is imperials though. Stupid amethysts and topazes. Not that the shards were any more useful on their own.

Another seasonal fail by the devs.

You are having strange luck. That wasn’t even the case in the PTR where drops were super boosted and it’s certainly not the case now. Embers have a much lower drop rate than the shards.

Roughly speaking, you’ll get 8 Embers for every ramcube you find.

Let me be clearer, the drop rates of Embers are the same as ramcube X8, roughly. Your mileage may vary.

It is strange for me indeed.

I did test in the PTR briefly and noticed that the soul shards drop rate to ember was somewhere between 8:1 and 12:1.

Somehow that differs on Live experience.

Also, during the entire process of hunting for Soul Shards and Embers on Live, I’ve only found 1 Ramaladni’s Gift.

If you chose not to believe me, fine. Just cause some people have differing luck than you does not make it a lie. Do you even understand RNG?

I think I have 10 shards and only one ember.

My Stash has over 20 soul shards in it and I got my first ember last night.

Well, didn’t quite catch that. I rebirthed a close to 3K paragon hero into a level 1 seasonal hero. And to me that counts as a newly created season hero. :+1:
