The goal is to get good enough at them to keep your opponents pumping quarters to try and beat you while you keep playing on your original quarters.
I was an arcade MK junkie for a brief stint. You canât hardly find arcades around anymoreâŚ
Welcome to the community, FilthieRich!
I bet, youâre also âfilthy richâ IRL.
ahh⌠arcade fighting games. takes me back on my younger years⌠used to play Street Fighter, X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, Rival Schools: United by Fate, Tekken and many more. Have not played those for a long time since I stopped going to arcade and played in PC.
Hope to see you around in future here in the forums.
Maybe its Bobby Kotick!
Welcome!
I hope you will have a good time on these forums and with this ommunity. Iâm glad to see new people, that also know and play the game. I hope you will be the voice that answers (at least some) of our questions and also the voice that brings to the devs our feedback We donât want radio silence anymore.
P.S. Any news on any QOL upcoming changes? We had a thread with a big list of them but⌠not much was done from it
I hate to be âthat guyâ, butâŚ
This wasnât a position from the 800, was it?
Crikey, so much blue in this thread!
Welcome and good luck.
MmmmâŚfresh meatâŚ
*nibbles our latest overlord*
You are a man who knows his fighting games. Soulcalibur is, by many estimations, the best fighting game ever, and I agree.
Critical Mass - A Love Story. Never forget Melkor. Never forget CM times. My fingers wonât aswell.
Welcome, good luck and âLet The Good Times Roll!â
Welcome! Itâs great to hear that weâre getting a new CM whoâs passionate about Diablo.
Hope youâll find that, overall, weâre not as bad a community as you may have heard.
WANT. Now that we have the main class sets done, secondary balance and QoL would be awesome.
Not exactly. The Community Lead Pez Radar is in was not something they even had for Diablo when there was just Diablo 3 and the old D2. Now that we have D2, D3, D:I, and eventually D4, they hired someone to lead Community for the franchise. It is a larger role that covers all the games and crosses all the Regions eventually! He will have minions of hell to support him!
Nevalistis was a Community Manager when she left Blizzard, although she was hired as an Associate Community Manager at first. She was promoted. Seeing as we had no CMs left at all, FilthieRich is replacing Nev who went to Wizards of the Coast of her own choice.
The ones laid off from the franchise were the 1.5 man positions of Associate Community Manager.
This is true. Most people here are good once you get used to them, although passionate at times. Not sure if I have Stockholm Syndrome though⌠Heh.
That was the 20th century!!!
Are you a Horadrim Ancient disguised in human?
Welcome, I think youâll like this community!
Note: I played to Pac-Man, I might be a Horadrim Ancient as well, no worry
Welcome, friend!
As one of the many DIablo-2 minded (Iâm over 30, just barely tho!) people, I am so glad to see that you played Diablo 2, hopefully a ton.
The more studying of Diablo 2 (beneath the meta builds), the better, because there is so much more to Diablo 2 than âplay meta run chaos repeat donât thinkâ. Example, things like how D2âs camera angle is a lot more zoomed out than D3/D4, and not having dedicated movement skills (a plus to not have), that encourage a âhit movement off cooldown, all season longâ gameplay.
You may or may not be a decision maker, but at least knowing you played Diablo 2 is such a relief, and hope the devs working on D4 address a very white-elephant feeling going around.
The feeling is that D4 is taking after Diablo 3 much more heavily than Diablo 2, on all the âchoose one or the otherâ design elements. No, D4 does not need to copy everything D2 did well, but it sure would be nice if feedback could get up to the devs that a lot of us feel D2 isnât being talked about much by the D4 devs and/or that D2 isnât being cared about (or studied) enough with respect to D4âs dev-window. The dream would be to see the devs make a big post something like âD2: hereâs what we like, hereâs what we do not like, and hereâs whyâ to see their perspective.
See you around, new friend, and congrats!
why work for Blizzard if you are filthierich alreadyâŚ
Welcome Rich, I feel like a bit of a kindred spirit towards you my friend. I like my brother was playing video games in arcades for many long years before transitioning to playing them primarily on the PC. One games struck a cord with me it is called PAC-MAN. I not only played that game but also played a game very similar to it called Lady Bug.
For me the transition was going from playing arcades to playing games at home on the PlayStation and arcades. Then when I got into computer gaming I mixed it up with a little arcades PlayStation and computer. After we stopped bowling, the arcades that I visited the most, we stopped playing arcade games and stuck with PlayStation type games. Now we only play computer games.
Diablo 1 was the first game that I remember playing at home on the PlayStation. Diablo 2 was the first game that I played on the computer.
Again I say a warm welcome Rich.
welcome to the team!
Welcome Filthie. Glad to have you aboard.
Nice! We got a guy on the inside. Donât worry, we wonât blow your cover.
Iâll take my Kilik vs. anyone elseâs Talim any day, though Talim does have a nasty mid-air stabatha-roll combo that can take 75% of your life bar and has knockback that can also make you eat a Ring Out. Still angry that the Conquest mode from the arcade version of Soul Calibur 2 never made it into the console versions. It felt more at home than the cheesy âfated battleâ system in arcade mode.
Now I want a Soul Calibur 2 remaster with Conquest mode put in. Consoles are easily more powerful than those arcade machines from twenty years ago.
P.S. - My Kilik ended up ranked Platinum Edgemaster of the Phoenix. I cringe at the number of quarters that probably tookâŚ
