I started playing D3 again, about a week ago and after about 20 or so runs, finally cleared GR 121. The difference maker was equiping Vambrance (cleared on the first try). Defense Wins Championships!

this is a season i believe Weapon Throw could do a 150.
Could, but I’ve never thought it was fun. I must be missing something.
it’s a DieHarder original tradition
please blizzard, buff weapon throw, save his soul.
You all know that’s never going to happen. And if they were going to buff anything, there are a whole line of builds and some classes that would get more support. But since we’re all wishful thinking to make Dieharder happy; sure, why not, count me in.
Thanks for the support y’all!

Only JESUS can save this soul.
Build seem to be fledging fine, if you try different iterations for items I believe you’ll end up hitting GR134-135 eventually. The issue is, figuring out what developers had in mind for this build. I have tried to copy this build to simulator and it looks promising as it is already but seem to be reliant on AD% mostly.
I may suggest a change on the build, however I don’t know if it’s accurate or not, so take my advice as a grain of salt. All I know is that every setup meant to reward when you take a risk, so I suggest just that; go out of your comfort zone else game won’t allow you to progress.
I would implement; changing Ice Climbers to Lut Socks for replacing Charge with Leap- Call of Arreat and this shall allow you to replace Ground Stomp with some other defensive buff. Hear me out here and get Ignore Pain with Pride of Cassius to replace Ground Stomp for further damage mitigation and crowd control immunity that you lost from ditching Ice Climbers. Idea is not letting ItP and WotB to not overlap together, until you fight the Rift Guardian.
Also be sure you have AD% at every available piece beforehand. Also I see, Pauldron of the Skeleton King there, it can not provide AD% and CdR% you need together so consider replacing it with a better piece later and check gloves and weapons for AD% as well.
My theory is if you can survive GR121 just fine, the monster damage will double in about 28 Greater Rift tiers later. This is way above your target range but you need a boost on defenses while pushing whether you like it or not. Alas, you can not achieve that if you were to keep this build as it is, so I gave it a look and tried some according changes just so you can sustain life at higher tiers with ease.
Give this a try; if it looks better let us know, if not then just keep doing what you know.
Blasphemy! The RNGods will punish ye! It’s been foretold!
I can’t seem to post my D3planner link.
This is a change I made. I dropped SOJ for Unity. I can give what you said a try, but with this change I made, would that change your recommendation? IP at 80% an uptime doesn’t seem like it’s going to work. I’m considering dropping BR for Relentless and dropping Unity for SOJ.

Trust.

Also, you can always do this, looks much smoother (preformatted text option):

I wouldn’t know but downtime is merely 3.2 seconds according to maxroll. I believe you’ll be fine and you can tap WotB or run away if you feel stuck in that time span.
Yes. I wouldn’t touch that further until you test that first. If it fails, then consider my opinion. There are two defensive changes that you can make from that default build. You either; pick Pride of Cassius and Lut Socks for ItP- Iron Hide and Leap- CoA as I have said, or pick Unity and change nothing at all.
Picking Unity would also allow you to replace Charge with Leap- CoA or Leap- Toppling and grabbing another damage buff like Overpower- Killing Spree or Revenge- Best Served Cold instead of Ground Slam. You can experiment around that if you wish, but first test the build with only Unity instead of SoJ then play around other variables in an order. If Leap seem to fit the play style consider switching to ItP with SoJ setup later.
Here are few changes that I have in mind:

Keep in mind that I had to switch to No Escape passive from Berserker’s Rage even with SoJ at one setup, because swapping few items caused a noticeable damage loss. Also I think the setups that use Leap skill runes with or without Lut Socks need to separated because you won’t have position advantage of one another if you have to await cooldown.
Good luck.
Here’s the greatest obstacle that I’ve run into and it’s having to sacrifice BoM for the Oculus or vice versa. And taking full advantage Lut Socks is time spent not attacking. I think I’m now going to fully be at the mercy of RNG.
I’m probably repeating myself for the nth time but I always thought the H90 set should have supported all primary skills, ancient spear, revenge and overpower.
At the time, these were skills that weren’t (and some still) supported properly by sets and legendaries or, in the case of ancient spear, would have synergised with one of the other skills… weapon throw.
As far as a range barb goes, the combination of weapon throw and ancient spear would have allowed for a weapon throw/ancient spear damage dealing combo and without the charge mechanic that R6 requires. Would have been more fun IMHO but that’s just based on how I see a ranged barb being played.
Why is that? I believe Oculus is only meant for your Follower to equip. If you think you don’t need BoM because you have Unity or ItP, you’d be mistaken, I say. Making space for a damage buff on action skill slots would be smarter instead of losing BoM. Your call though. I’m not entirely knowledgeable on Barbarian class at all.
With Leap- Call of Arreat, you’ll create at least two large groups and sweep them with Area Damage% once you start attacking, so don’t think leaping around as a time loss. You just pull aggression that way instead of running or spamming Charge around. You barely have to bait ground effects on your position with Lut Socks.
Without Lut Socks, I suggest Leap- Toppling Impact, so you can make the best of No Escape even for a brief moment. Once Leap- Toppling hits, slow targets will remain at distance but still get the WT- Ricochet hits and BR- Bloodshed will scan the area every second for anyone dared to get close.
A fair warning here; don’t use Leap- Toppling or Leap- CoA at narrow pathways too often, as crowd control hitting so many monsters at once is not a good deal of circumstances. Always try to pace Leap casts at narrow rooms and mind pulling your Follower at the other side by pushing 75 yard away from them.
When you try to kill everything at the first sight, you’ll be at the mercy of RNG more often. Kite and lure targets with different traits together, so you can make the best use of Area Damage occurrences. With this in mind, using Leap will only offer a small wind up if you can keep up good monster density.
My apologies, I should have explained myself better. What I meant by sacrificing BoM for Oculus… was that that because of the cooldown of Leap (even with Luts Socks) can’t have too chise one or the other (the majority of the time. But obviously, I have to active BoM or I’m dead and mean Leap is on downtime so the Oculus ring is unreachable. The damage buff of Oculus is crucial for advancement. I did a few runs and couldn’t get it work.
I’m tempted to return to this and see if this combo will help me advance.
You can alleviate this, but again it goes back to your own original build. I suggest without Lut Socks, replace Overpower or Revenge with Charge so you could get BoM whenever you want. If you already have Lut Socks and PoC belt, then go for Ignore the Pain- Bravado, your up time will suffer a bit, but you’ll be more mobile to catch those. As I see it from the simulator, Leap cooldown seem to be enough to refresh but not consistent for mobility as Charge.
If both of those don’t work for you then I’m out of ideas. Let’s be honest Lut Socks setup may not work to grant any comfort so apologies in advance from me as well. However, I really suggest you to consider more AD% if entire build is so reliant on Oculus circles like that.
Yeah, it just doesn’t work. It looks great on paper, but it doesn’t translate into gameplay. But Something else up my sleeve.
