Yes for D3 as well as D4. No they don’t have to be anything fancy like the Mongoose enchant in WoW. Something nice and simple. For example a Red Glow around the ouchy part of the weapon. Don’t need any waves or drips or pulsates or any animations, just a Red Glow like you would see on a low level weapon as you are leveling your character.
Obviously, I am thinking about melee weapons more than anything else. However, I am sure you can apply the same simple coolness to wands, staves, bows, crossbows, and hand-crossbows.
Even if you were to limit the Weapon Glow to the ‘white item’ selection only, that would be fine. Actually, that would work out perfectly. But if you could override an existing ‘effect’ and replace it with a simple Weapon Glow, that would be nice. Especially if you like a certain weapon as a transmog and you really can’t stand the animations or effects, then you can basically have your cake and nom nom nom too.
Example: I have a WW Barb that is using the Devil Tongue transmog for each weapon. It’s a good transmog, I like it a lot. However, I would gladly swap that for two Rune Swords (or King Blades) with a Red Glow. That would be NIIIIIIICE!
That is something simple enough to add to an aging game that many-a-player can enjoy, right? Or am I completely out in left field it might as well be space right next to Pluto formally known as a planet?

hm
in sacred, elemental weapons used to have an elemental effect on the weapon
fire swords burning, poison swords dropping poison
thats somewhat immersive and and see what you have, you see what weapon you are haivng equipped currently (you have up to 5 weapon slots in sacred)
just random glowing, i dont know
some special items could have that
and if you wanna sell it to people as a skin, i just dont mind
I’m in, I was already in but for that part I am more in.

I know WoW has weapon glows as part of their transmog, D3 ad D4 could have that as well. Blizz can add another tab at the Mystic. Again, it doesn’t need to be anything flashy or drippy either. If I remember correctly. Beastslaying Enchant in WoW had a red glow and that was it. I think the Agility Enchant had a green glow and that was it. Something along those lines
Or, to keep it in D3, the yellow weapons you find as you are leveling to 70. A one handed axe with a blue glow because it has cold damage on it or a two handed sword with an orange glow because it has fire damage on it. That’s the glow I am talking about. Would be nice to choose which one you want on your weapons.
What if they did this by making weapons dye-able? I think that would work and would that be easier than making a new tab at the mystic?

I’d much rather have dye-able wings instead.
As for glows, I got a dual-wielded Hamburger.
r0xo That would work. Then you can have any color glow. Even a black glow would look cool. I think immediately of the Necromancer or the Witch Doctor. Shouldn’t be too hard for blizz to do either.
IronMan How about BOTH? The Horadric Hamburger as a transmog is classic. I know it’s a bit goofy for Diablo, but I like it. ANY one-handed weapon should be able to transmog to the Horadric Hamburger, not just daggers. Yes, I know that sounds very hypocritical coming from someone that wants to keep ‘whimsy’ out of Diablo. D2 had Cows and the Cow King and even Cow King Armor. It went along with goatmen, not teddy bears and powder ponies.
