Anyone noticed that when Visions become almost nonexistent in T16, Visions still are frequent at lower T levels?
Go to the Temple of the First Born in Act 2 and it’s guaranteed to get a vision every time. At least I always get one in T16.
I would think that most players stay at T16 once they are up and running and have the power to play at that level (of course some farming for some stuff for the staff of Herding is more effective on lower levels).
Only thing I have noticed is that Visions are sometimes more frequent than at other times. That’s why I remember a single time getting three visions in a Festering Woods (on T16) and some times getting none.
Like Argos I also go to the temple in act 2.
Also a player like John with barb, crusader and monk should get an abundance of Bovine Bardiches… for Cow levels… even though they don’t exist.
When I get bored, I craft Bovine Bardiches and run cow levels (since I play DH and Necro they don’t naturally drop). I have gotten 4 and 5 visions in one cow level (but you’re right, they don’t exist )
We should also ask if John’s question is based on statistic observations or feelings? Like if one has just had poor results in a T16 game and then makes a T10 game and has lots of visions, then one would likely think T10 is much better for getting visions.
After I’ve run a bunch of bounties in T16, I’ve noticed that I pretty much quit getting visions when I run bounties and Cow level to get visions. This week, I dropped down to do some of more esoteric achievements. I noticed, I was getting visions everywhere. I just did Westmark Bounty on T15 and got three visions. Lately, when I did a bounty on T16, I was lucky to get one short vision. Cow Level was also only producing one vision on T16.
The Ancient Prison is an event and sometimes (rarely) bounty in Act 5 Pandemonium 2. Talk to the ghost and activate 3 pylons, 4 should remain untouched. Mobs spawn endlessly, visions appear more often than usual. Boring, but effective.
RNG = RNG.
I do a lot of full 5 act bounty runs each season. Generally, I get around 3 Visions per bounty act. Sometimes I get 3 on one act. Sometimes I get 0 on one act. Sometimes I get 3-4 on just one bounty and not even a super dense bounty. Sometimes I get a Vision on the first monster I kill. All of this happens regardless of the difficulty I play.
I’m suspicious that the frequency of visions decreases based on the amount of time spent playing a T level. I spend the vast amount of my time in seasonal play playing T16.
That can mean anything between; you are farming a low monster density area to still slow at mobility and damage output. Your chances of opening a Vision is around is less than 1% per slain monster at any given difficulty. According to maxroll that number is around 0.33% to occur; approximately one Vision per 300 slain.
And that’s how you know you overpowered for the difficulty level. When I’m searching for Staff of Herding parts in very low Torment difficulties and a Vision opens, I don’t bother entering and I bet no one else does.
Vision in T14 and T15 are not significantly different that visions in T16. They all peak at around GR90 monsters.
Run 100 cowsticks on T16. Run 50 cowsticks on T15. Come back with the results.
I can’t believe any such thing would be coded into the game - intentionally or unintentionally. What most players will experience is that the occurrence of visions can change quite a lot from game to game. And if one is having a dry spell that suddenly changes when going down in difficulty it can be seen as confirmation of some kind of pattern. But in reality there is no such pattern it’s just the randomness built into the game.
Who mean RNG?
I’ve never had much of an issue to get visions. I go to TotFB and I can usually get 2 or 3 there.
What you might be experiencing is that your kill speed is higher in lower T levels and thus you kill more monsters per time unit and thus you experience more visions on average per time unit on lower T lvls (as has been pointed out by others in htis thread).
It’s not a time unit. I’m running FoH crusader. I’m looking at the number of visions produced by doing an Acts bounty and a cow level in T16. Usually got 3 or more visions in an Act or a cow level earlier in the season. Now, I only get one or zero.
As Argos and Jazz said at the beginning of the discussion, it has nothing to do with the level of torment. Words followed by those of naksiloth.
The perfect words come from Alexismad:
RNG is RNG
It’s okay to try and do vision farming on T15 and lower and see if you get better results… or at least see what happens.
Maybe the .33% chance does stay uniform and the reactive response to completing higher GRs (fewer but stronger monsters) is the cause. Finally got a descent number of visions in an Act 3 bounty in T16. Getting two in Sescheron was a big help, but most of that came from the last vision which had only two floors. The second floor was a Goblin party.
You’re making “life” too complicated for yourself.
Visions can appear whenever they want.
Just run
