Could this work out for an easier gameplay?
The traps costs hatred, but I wonder if it could work or if you need to put down 5 then explode
I’ve wondered the same thing, Phoenix. The set removes the hatred cost of the Spike Traps though. So, it’s likely it won’t work. They could even have done that to ensure it wouldn’t work. In the PTR that changed Nat’s, the set would drop Spike Traps on hit and so people would use Strafe with the Set and the Lightning Rune on Spike Traps.
But lots of people complained, “We don’t need another Strafe build,” because the Season of Crucibles was going on during that PTR and everyone was running Strafe on their builds. Everything from Shadow to UE to Marauders could run the Crucible power that caused your Strafe to fire your last Spender.
That said, there are exceptions that might allow it to work. One is Spines of Seething Hatred and Kridershot both turn a spender into a Generator but using those items allow Focus and Restraint to trigger at the same time. Meaning Elemental Arrow and Chakrams count as a spender and a generator with Focus and Restraint, so it’s possible that removing the hatred cost of Spike Trap might not mean that Spike Trap is longer a spender when used with the Crucible power.
It’s something I intend to try and I’m hoping it works, but it’s likely it won’t.
The build is just odd. I don’t mind a difficult build, but this one is just strange.
I’d rather have the old one with “enemies caught in rain of fire takes x amount of damage from traps”, but I think the strafe crucible wont work, I just saw the set bonus removing the hatred cost.
Lod though got some options like you wrote. With kridershot etc. so I might get a dh to try, though I think I’m going monk
Lots of people agree with you. I actually like the New Nat’s. It’s what I cleared my first GR 150 with. My build differs from what other people use though, so I can tank almost everything and just stand in the middle of mobs dropping Spike Traps and setting them off with my generator.
But again, lots of people agree with you. I personally wouldn’t want it changed back but I understand why lots of people would.
I wrote about this on Reddit, and theorycrafted some builds. If you don’t run it with Shi Mizu, it’s about 1 GR stronger. This build may resemble the first iteration on the PTR.

I’m on NA server, we need confirmation if Spike Traps works with Strafe crucible.
I’m curious about your table. Could you please explain the “adjusted clear” entry. As someone that plays the Angry Chicken WD build, I’m interested in understanding this table.
Also, has anyone confirmed whether Sanctified Strafe will work with Natalya’s? I tried it without any unusual combos and it did not work…though TBQH I’m now contemplating using 3 pieces of GoD and 5 pieces of Natalya’s just for the heck of it
Sanctified strafe won’t work. But you also don’t need it to make a strafe natalyas build!
I refer you to my previous post
Nice, thanks for sharing Slothic. I’ll check it out.
Happy to help. I did a 110 with it, I think it has potential to maybe even go to 125!
