I am using this build and it is causing a lot of lags and disconnects. Is it a problem with Blizzard servers or is it me?? I think it might be tied to Rain of Vengeance Dark Cloud in conjunction with Pain Enhancer and Efficacious Toxin and Vault Action Shot and Rattling Roll with Danettas set Clones. I keep getting disconnected halfway through rift and people are complaining about lagging. What is going on?! Urgent Help Needed. This is my favorite build but it can’t be played if the servers don’t work?

Server and client have to communicate and keep a feedback loop; server runs at 60 frames per second, making it refresh the data for next action every 16 millisecond. When you overcrowd the data traffic with lots of damage over time effects, the animations (for example: attack animations of fifty monsters in the area) and data instances (for example: changes in health of any entity, damage dealt) overlap with each other to queue up for server to refresh the next frame.
In return, server can’t catch up with the dense information and your GPU can not render all of these changes at once when feedback received, so it’s a burden for both sides.
This has nothing to do with your GPU’s cycle speed or model; nor it’s Blizzard to blame when 60 frames refresh rate infrastructure is the standard in modern games. It is your own fault cobbling that build.
You asked for help, so I’ll give you a hint about the build; don’t use RoV- Dark Cloud, nor try to stack any other damage over time effect under that. The proven build for RoV usually includes LoD or LoN with Hellcat’s for Anathema skill rune, but you have to forget about Danetta’s at that case. I’m also running a few tests to see if I can introduce RoV to underdog builds, but as you all may guess, it won’t go beyond an utility skill at most.
But this is my favorite build, why can’t I play it? I will never forget about Danettas and Rain of Vengeance.

to pause the game every now and then, so server buffers and catch up.
I think I can figure a way to include RoV in some underdog builds with class Sets. It would take a me a week or so, but I can’t promise on finding a middle point for Danetta’s as it would cost main and off-hand weapon slots to make you lose power. Usual class Sets of Demon Hunter have mandatory Legendary weapons and this is how their build sustains.
I have been running a few tests, but I’m not going to share my notes unless I’m sure of it. My current Demon Hunter is very weak after being rebirth previous Season, I have to plummet through my stash to create a coherent build.

Try and play it solo. No lag and no slack.
We had Danettas and Natalya set until they killed off Natalya set. This is not my fault.

Yep. Same reason Jade Doc should be played solo and zdps takes off all AD in a group run… some parts of this game causes major lag. It ain’t gonna be fixed in a game that’s in maintenance mode and more than a decade old. Hell, I doubt it’ll be fixed in a new game… too expensive to rework the core design of how the game operates… may as well release a new game (which is what Blizz did… though I heard they reused some of the limiting code from D3 still due to time constraints).

You would have to take AD off all your gear, not just paragon.

Just checked, and you do have no AD on gear, so turn remove it from your paragon.
May not solve it, but should improve it. The problem is, builds that have DoT cause a lot of calculations for the server especially when there are more and more monsters under the effect. The more calculations, the more lag. If you are using other skills/legendary effects that cause ticking damage, you may still get the lag.
Doubt it. You have different stacks of damage over time effects. You have to get rid of one or two of them to be sure. Since calculations have to be synchronized, several stacks of DoT on the same entity or monster can cause problems as well. The issue that stands about AD% hitting many targets at once to overcrowd the information and position checks that server need to handle, also apply to DoT effects when they stack en masse.
As long as an entity inflicted by DoT is still alive it has to inform server that it’s alive to queue the death animation every tick; which is around 16.6 millisecond. After a while server will not handle this amount of data for juggling each entity in combat for long periods of activity.
You can still use Danetta’s with Natalya, but I guess you have to forget about RoV as you won’t really have space for it unless you remove some mandatory buff. In theory, you can use Vault as a way of arming Spike Traps when you have 8 Hatred cost from Danetta’s Set. Throw in Omryn’s Chain or Cape of the Dark Night and you’ll have a fun T16 build.

Not really; you can’t play it because you have stacked more than one Damage over Time sources, unnecessarily.

What do you mean? Pain Enhancer is used because we get automatic criticals. Toxin is used to buff and debuff enemies via Rain of Vengeance Dark Cloud. Vengeance Dark Cloud is used because it’s 8 seconds of hitting the entire screen and it can stack. All of this is necessary.
Okay well I am using Trap gem instead of Pain Enhancer and no more paragon area damage and it seems no more disconnect or lag. However, there is a new problem. Every time I join a game my paragon box lights up because the area damage paragon points aren’t being allocated. This is extremely annoying. Is there a fix for this?
Press “p” twice (or p and “esc”). Same thing happens when you get a paragon point while playing.
Well it seems like the build is working well I got a lot of progress with it got rid of the belt because it wasn’t doing anything since they took away Natalya set so I added Cains set too so now it has 4 sets well 5 sets with Danettas, at least it isn’t disconnecting anymore and it seems the build works really well it’s definitely one of the best builds ever
