I killed the final Goblin next to the gate in Tristram’s Fate, and half of the loot(including all the legendary materials) landed outside the gate so I could not reach them.
This has been reported ever since Visions were introduced. Sadly it doesn’t look like it will be fixed.

Ye, including me. But since the two times it happened to me some month ago, it never happened again. “Best” solution, I think, would be to make it appear in town, but as you said, most likely not gonna get really fixed.
