Ulianas set suggestions

Thanks for the info.

After a little more playing around with Crimson Uliana build I thought of adding Madstone instead of Spirit Guards in and dropping the generator or the Mantra. If you equip a Zodiac ring then your SSS ends up with a 1.3 second cooldown and with the 100% Epiphany uptime (75% CDR needed for that), SSS should be the only skill on cooldown after you SSS. That would make you have near 100% SSS invulnerability.

Thank you for this interesting thread
What is missing for an effective LON EP ?

For high GR, the problem with EP builds is detonating the first EP to get the chain reaction started. That is evident in Inna EP builds as well as LoN EP. At high level GR’s even the trash mobs can have too much health to reliably detonate the EP and against a single target RG without adds you may as well quit the rift. Uliana builds get around that since the six piece bonus detonates the EP when the target is hit by SSS.

Amen to that Khord, if the set had some more damage bonus it could do so much better at the higher gr levels

a LON EP like Bazooka would have a lot of style

That would be pretty interesting

There was a group meta for a bit with a EP monk to clear trash and a HotA Barb to detonate and spread the EP’s. At that time, HotA Barb was one of the best single target and RGK builds. The difference now is Bazooka Wiz can clear the trash all by itself without help from a RGK build.

New version of crimson and uli does not work since you need the belt, the 60% dmg reduction of bracers and gungdo. Inna and CC set does not work and gen monk usually has 0 cdr 0rcr. Swk stays but you have to drop wh and double ally, could be critical with spirit but you get rcr and cdr. Then maybe swk and inna are equally strong (?)
Uliana playstyle is kind of unique so the way it works should stay as it is - but it needs a decent dmg buff. I used it in 2 and 3 player as tk on a 120 and its dmg can be insane (if density is goooooooooood) but you are so dependent on a very high density and on your ability to use MR passive and here the problems begin - you have almost no single target dmg and the dmg buffs are pretty non existent. Asimilation is fine but compared to sorcs ability to catch many enemys (bh or shockwave) its a joke (ever tried to get 30+ enemys? it works on a team matchup but… can be a hard one).

I totally agree, SSS is great for a bunch of small mobs grouped together with some elite packs but attacking a solo elite mob and the RG takes awhile to kill. If the set had some more damage for say groups of 5 mobs or less it would really help the build

The build I came up with on d3planner had 77.23% cdr and about 46% rcr with Spirit Guards in the cube and Gungdo equipped. Binding of the Lost is potentially more damage reduction than the 46% from Crimson set but it is not reliant on maintaining stacks and with so much cdr you have only 1.3 seconds after SSS until it is ready to SSS again and you’re invulnerable during the SSS animation. I will admit that you sacrifice a lot of Area Damage to stack so much CDR and RCR but if you can stay in SSS so often, nothing can touch you. I didn’t get to test on ptr but ut looks promising in paper.

You maybe right  I had a feeling that you will need that belt but hmpf, that could be at least something (when i compare it with that freakin vyr chant build its like nothin :frowning: )

All changes should be thematic to the set and the skills it uses.

  • Add to one item (set or not): Your SSS does 7 times damage to the first 7 enemies it hits
  • Add to one item (set or not): SSS gains all runes ( this will likely require a change to Pandemonium)
  • Increase EP explosion to 7 yards

Those changes sound pretty kool KingCheetah, I think that would really help out the set

Uliana 4 piece already buffs SSS a fair amount. Full damage to each target is effectively a 7x multiplier and Lion’s Claw doubles that while adding more potential targets not including the 777% buff to SSS from Uliana 4 piece and the seperate 100% from Flow of Eternity.

I wouldn’t mind SSS gaining all runes baked into the existing Uliana 4 piece bonus since that would greatly help the Inna / Uliana hybrid build which has always been a favorite of mine.

The set could still use a big buff in damage especially on single target or when fighting a few single targets, having all runes might help it a bit but without testing it there’s no telling how much it would improve the set overall

I suggested to buff the 6p set to 2k% bonus on ep in another thread.

That would be pretty nice

Monk Buff Proposal just to let you know - there are much more suggestions

Kool, thank you for the heads up
