I thought I’d seen everything.
I was doing bounties.
I was in Pandemonium Fortress 2 and got a rainbow portal.
Agreed with the others to save it for the end.
After the last bounty is turned in, another player says to tp to him.
I thought he had just gone to my act. When I tp’d we were in HIS act, the Ruins of Secheron, Icy Pit. What the??!
After clearing Whimsydale, I went back to Pandemonium Fortress 2 and my rainbow portal was no longer there.
Anybody seen this happen before?
Rainbow level is a singleton. There can only be one rainbow portal in each game session. Once it is opened, it won’t close.
Same for Not the Cow Level and Uber portals.

Yes I know. There was only one USEABLE portal.
But we BOTH got a rainbow portal in the same game, in two different locations.
So you can get two portals. But you can only use one of them.

It is possible to get two Rainbow Goblins in one game, but the second portal will take you to the same Whimsydale that you would have cleared with the first. Best advice - after killing the first Rainbow Goblin and clearing Whimsydale just make a new game.

I have never seen 2 rb portals opened because I usually solo.
But according to a blue statement about double goblin event, if 2 rb portals were opened, both portals would lead to the same Whimsydale instance.
I don’t know why your portal disappeared (probably because someone had entered the other portal). But event it was still there, it would only lead to the same Whimsydale you had done.
Yup ive gotten 2 portals a few times but they go to the same one.

Got 2 portals before. Like Nefertiti said, after I get the first portal I always start a new game.
I have seen two solo in the same bounty no less, talk about a waste. I was actually upset to see a second one. I decided not to finish the bounty, jumped in and killed all and looted everything. I went back to town to store and salvage my loot, then back to the bounty. Close to finishing the bounty I hear a goblin. I get excited, only to see another kjhadsfvaiksd rainbow goblin. The same can be said with the pet goblin once you collected all the pets. Again, talk about a waste.

Yes it happens more often than you would think… getting multiple rainbow gobs in 1 game… It’s a bummer that only 1 portal opens, but that’s how it’s been since the start of Whimsy… maybe at some point Blizz might reconsider but I doubt it =/

I was the player who found the second rainbow portal 
So i opened a rainbow portal to whimsydale yesterday. Then I did it again today 2 days and the whole thing is reset. So i get to do it again. Must be a glitch or anomaly
You can open as many portals as you find but they go to the same instance. So if you clear a spawned portal then later in the game another spawns it will be the same cleared instance that you already found.
No, that’s working as intended, you get a maximum of one portal per gamesession, but as long as you start a new game there’s no other limits.

So I opened a Greater Rift yesterday. Then I did it again today and the whole thing is reset. So i get to do it again. Must be a glitch or anomaly

Back when I was determined to get the Cosmic Wings I would get around 5-10 per day, so no, nothing anomalous or glitchy about it. 1 portal per game, clear, restart new game, repeat ad infinitum…
So when you say game session, you are talking about log on ,log off , log back on = new whimsydale correct? Not new game as in start from level 1.
Ya, just restart the game. Only one rainbow portal is allowed per game. If you get one, run it, then you have to go to the next game to get another. It is not 1 portal per character, it is one per game.
