If this feature is to be taken seriously by players, the duration needs to be increased. 5 seconds is not long enough. The AVERAGE player will likely take 1-2 seconds to position themselves in the ring, leaving only 3-4 seconds of effect. An increase to 8-10 seconds would greatly alleviate this problem and make this feature more relevant. I like the feature but with its current iteration I feel that it will be ignored more than used.
The rings need to be larger, too. Ideally it would be an effect or aura that would follow you around. There is too much repositioning at higher levels for this to be useful as it is.
Yep, I’ve seen Rhykker’s video and it feels that sometimes the ring doesn’t really last long enough, not too mention it is kinda miniscule. I like this buff kind of but they really need to work on it, at the current iteration it doesn’t feel being at the right spot.
I think the idea for the season is cool but execution is lacking. I am finding it pretty much useless and can only see this being really useful for classes or builds that do distance damage. It needs to be an aura or a circle that’s attached to the character, like Kronos said, to be useful. To be honest after an hour or so on the ptr I pretty much can see it being a total dud for the season, the way it is. Compared to even the goblin season its a fail in its current state in my opinion.
10 secs to be useful. I like the rng part of being anywhere on the screen.
Currently, most of the time, the Triune Powers last about 7.6 seconds. But, sometimes they only last 2 to 2.5 seconds. They should always last at least as long as the Oculus Ring’s Focused Power does, in my opinion.
As I understand it, the Oculus Ring Power spawns near where a monster is killed. The Triune Power spawns near where a hostile is attacked.
(Notice in the video I had a Triune Power spawn while attacking some “hostile” Barrels.
)
Well the 2 second duration is bull… . The need to either make the duration consistent like 7 seconds or something, or increase the max and min lets say from 4-5 to 10.
It would be so much better if it would spawn under your feet or even move with you in addition.
Agreed.
I feel the same way about the Oculus Ring too. ![]()
If so, they may nerf the bonus. 85% is overpower if 100% spawn under your feet as the proc rate has already been raised to 100% on kill.
Edit: also, the play style is extremely boring. I can foresee many complains about “forced to stand still”. ![]()
Well, I’d rather have a smaller but more consistent and comfortable bonus rather than running around like a psycho chasing the circles ![]()
In addition, when you chase the circles you are not dealing damage an thus not killing anything (if you don’t have minions or something). At earlier stages of the game it might be OK’ish since there is very little risk involved if you choose to be catching the circles. BUT, in high torments and high GR’s you might not be able to afford to mess around with circles, you must deal dmg/kill and play/position yourself very carefully. It might be too dangerous and not even be worth it to chase.
Another problem is knockback, where you fly through half of the screen, very annoying affix and actually an anti-mechanic to the mechanic. There probably are more problems/concerns…
This is why I think it is not very good design for the circles to spawn where your attack has landed since it forces you to dive right into the f’ing mayhem.
Nope, the current spawn location is random anywhere in visible area, not where your attack lands.
Not sure to be happy about this or disappointed. It sounds that you have even less control and more chaos ![]()
It works like oculus ring. If you don’t like oculus, you won’t like it.
I’m fairy happen with it right now. Together with oculus, I have 2 rings to choose from.
You might be right on the spawn location of Triune rings.
I was testing with Multishot, it looks like random, sometime even behind me.
I have retested with a single target attack, this time, rings seemed to spawn “near” but not “on” the target. Still some RNG factor.
Agreed. The ring of power, all versions, duration is too short. It seems they disappear the moment I enter them, and they don’t last long enough for me to even point to their icons to find out what they do.
Also, the colors are too similar. I can’t tell them apart by their color alone.
The rings should have a timer that doesn’t start until the play enters it, or a new ring is created.
