Tracking Season 26 clears, week by week (updated week 17)

Last update: 8/12/22

Hello Everybody,

My collaborator DMKT and I have embarked on a new project. We will be tracking the top adjusted season 26 clear for every set (and LoN/LoD) for every class. We’ll log the top clear for the week for each of these, every Friday, starting today. It’ll be interesting to watch the clears go up as the season gets older and the paragon goes up. This season lacks any mechanics that benefit some classes more than others (like Ethereals or Soul Shards), so this should give us some insight into the relative power of various builds.

That said, please refrain from drawing any conclusions too quickly- low clears for certain sets may represent nothing more than the fact that nobody is pushing those builds very hard right now. The numbers later in this season may paint a very different picture… or not- we’ll see!

The “adjustment” of the clears, by the way, is accounting for paragon and remaining time. Clears get credit for their amount of paragon below 5000, or a penalty for their amount of paragon above 5000 (i.e. the scale is centered around paragon 5000). And, clears get credit for remaining time.

As a result, the top adjusted clear may not necessarily be the top clear on the leaderboard. For instance, let’s say that somebody cleared 140 in 13:00 with 6000 paragon, and got rank 1 on one of the leaderboards. Meanwhile, somebody else did 140 in 13:30 with 2000 paragon, and got rank 2. While the first clear would be ahead on the official leaderboard, in our accounting, the 2nd clear would come out on top. Usually, the rank 1 clear on a leaderboard is the highest adjusted clear as well, but occasionally not.

If anybody has any questions, just let DMKT or I know.

It would be cool if they added a filter on the LB for weight classes like this.

I just got deja vu. The PTR Feedback forum, when the set leaderboards were released.

  1. Paragon filters with manual entry of min and max values, and logical preset brackets. [0-1000, 1000-1500, 1500-2000… custom]
  2. A button to show only clears made by players with nearby paragon, plus-or-minus 15% of your own paragon.

All the good stuff to help everyone’s self esteem.

Can Blizzard see the Cru is the weakest role in patch 2.7.3? Hoping Cru will be buffed in next patch.

Well, we are 1 week into the season. We’ll see if Crusader is still underperforming in week 12.

So, if I understood correctly, on the first week, the most efficient build is WD Arachyr? Or I missed something?

Well, I’m not sure about efficient

Arachyr has cleared the highest, taking into account the paragon of the player and the time of the clear. Which is impressive!

The top 5 for week 1 are:

#1: Arachyr
#2: Raekor
#3: Inna
#4: Marauder
#5: LoD WoL (Monk)

It’s hard to find the good word(s) to explain this one.

And thanks for your answer.

I remember a legend about a big balance patch…

Did I read that right? Reakor clear 140 at para 1700?

Nvm I see. That’s Enryu’s clear. He is essentially Korean Wudijo of barbros lol

Really nice clear

Yes. If they gave out a trophy that just said “best at Barb”, he would definitely have it on his shelf!

You should try to track different builds within each set as well. For instance Marauders has Multishot and Cluster Arrow variations.

I think we’re more likely to do that for non-season clears, later on. We’re updating this list every week, and it is already very long… it also takes way longer to go through each region in-game and determine what setup is being used.

The paragon adjustment in the spreadsheet is calculated as follows: we start by assuming that a 5000 paragon player will have 35000 mainstat. We then calculate the difference between the paragon of the player in a clear and 5000, and the difference in mainstat. We then give 1 tier worth of credit for each division of 1.17 (since mobs gain 17% life for each tier increase) from 35000.

For instance, 35000 / 1.17 = 29914. (Let’s round to 29915).

35000 - 29915 = 5085.

5085 / 5 = 1017.

5000 - 1017 = 3983.

So, a player who cleared, say, GR 130 with 3983 paragon, would earn 1.0 tiers of positive adjustment on our spreadsheet. A player with still lower paragon would earn a larger adjustment.

It also works the opposite way if you are above 5000 paragon: you earn negative adjustment.

The time adjustment in the spreadsheet is calculated by giving 1 tier worth of credit for each division of 1.17 from the 900 second time limit for a rift. In other words, it recognizes that if the player had a bunch of leftover time, they could have done a harder rift.

For instance, 900 / 1.17 = 769.

So, a player who finished their rift in 769 seconds (12:49) would earn 1 tier of positive adjustment on our spreadsheet. If they finished faster than that, they would earn a larger adjustment.

There is obviously no negative version of this adjustment, since the game doesn’t even record clears that go over the time limit!

I second this. I’m also interested in the different Inna clears if it’s Water/Earth/Fire.

Here is this week’s set of numbers. We’ve got LoD WoL #1, Inna #2, Raekor + Marauder tied for #3, and Arachyr #5. These are the same top 5 as last week, but in a different order.

Notably, the Arachyr clear has not changed at all since last week- the top from then is still the top now.

Are you volunteering? I agree that it’s interesting, but I’m not going to be doing it- the chart would get too long and convoluted. It’s also a ton more work, since you’d need to log into every region of the game and go through the clears. But, if you’re only interested in variants for a few sets- say Inna + Marauder, it wouldn’t be too colossal a job.

Also of note: in week 2, Wizard has both the “Worst Best” set, Firebird, which has the lowest adjusted clear out of top sets for any class (141.1) and the “Best Worst” set, Tal Rasha, which has the highest adjusted clear for the worst set of any class (130.9).

A lot of the numbers at this point in the season are related to the newness, and power, of certain builds. For instance, on the Crusader board, Invoker is ahead of both Akkhan and AoV. This is probably not due to Invoker being actually more powerful than those other sets, but just because it’s been recently revised, and people are playing it a lot more.

Or, on the Barb board, we see Raekor out in front by a good margin (4.5 tiers). Here we have a build that is both new and very powerful- almost certainly the strongest Barb build, and one of the strongest builds in the game. Behind Raekor, we have Wastes and then “No Set”, undoubtedly LoD HoTA. The 3.3 tier lead that Wastes has over LoD HoTA is again most likely due to player preference, with Wastes/WW/Rend being a perennial favorite.

I would also be interested in this, but it’s unfortunately likely impossible. A water Inna clear would be overwritten by an Earth clear should it push higher. So we’d just see the guy who happened to push highest with water only, not the actual highest done.
