I’ve successfully done this several times, but cannot remember how… There are 2 tomes that are noted to drop the first time you use Kanai’s Cube. The are:
History of Kanai’s Cube, part 2
and
They Never Listen
However, the last few times I’ve played through (seasonal only, of course,) I’ve only ever gotten “History of Kanai’s Cube, part 2” and never “They Never Listen”
Does anyone know, remember the trick to this??

Iirc, it drops after the first use of the cube in town.
That’s what I thought too. Only when I get back to town and use the cube, I get History part 2 and not They Never Listen. Now, I’ve gotten both in the past, but I don’t remember how 
Yeah… I tried it on Europe… I got History Part 1 when I retrieved the cube, History Part 2 when I used the cube to convert Reuseable Parts to Veiled Crystals, nothing when I tried it again, and then nothing when I extracted the power of a Band of Might ring…
I’m starting to think that I’m missing a condition… like being lvl 60 or 70 (I’m lvl 26 now).

Just got it… after extracting my 2nd power (weapon). I am playing T1 and am lvl 40.
Which one of these caused the tome to drop (weapon power extraction, Torment difficulty level, hero level)… I do not know.

Well, that’s the answer 
. Just tried it with my latest character, and got the final tome. Wish I’d thought to ask a month ago, but I’ve already deleted that character .
To get “They Never Listen,” it seems you have to playing on Torment I or higher. Don’t know if it would work on a lower difficulty, but I think that’s unlikely. Torment seems to be a fairly clear demarcation. Only have a couple more characters to worry about, 3 if they ever fix the Necromancer and “The Crusaders,” (1-9,) tomes. I made a note of it, so I won’t forget.
