To The Developers

Please, go ahead and copy the whole game mechanics and progression, from Diablo 2.

This Diablo 3.5 is bad.

There is No need to invent the wheel.

I think the game has a whole lot of potential, especially running into players in the open world, world events, etc

But yeah I agree. They need to return to diablo 2 progression, trading, and itemization. It worked and still worked 20 years later. Diablo 2 is still widely played and popular

I wish people would leave D2 in the past where it belongs. D3 wasn’t the perfect game but there were aspects of it that were much better then D2. Let D4 be exactly that, it needs to be D4, not D2 remastered.

That is not Diablo though, thats World of Warcraft, or Diablo 3 to some degree… That is not what we want as a succesor to Diablo 2 - or what the devs initially said they would set out to do.

They are trying to cater to the Diablo 2 fanbase this time, but they only do it with the visuals, they forgot all the important aspects - basicly the entire game…

D4 is just a dumbed down reskin of D3 at this point, with more WoW features transfered over.

I’d hate to see a straight copy; there’s a lot of room for improvement and additions.

For example: Gems…

– Yes. Please add back all of the gems. Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Amethyst, Diamond. Throw skulls back in there.

– But also, please add way more tiers of gems, letting only the first few tiers ever drop in the world. So we have more interesting gem progression.

– Improve upon gem benefits. More utility? Gem-Only affixes/abilities? Make gems great to get and fun to upgrade.

– And lastly; add MORE gems. Bloodstones, Opals, Peridots, Aquamarines? Add hearts to go with skulls? Just add MORE.

There’s a lot from D2 I would really like to see in D4; but I want more and more with improvements. Not just a 1:1 copy.

But it should take the good things about D2 just like every other modern ARPG has done

Give us item competition back. Successful economy based on resource competition. Everyone should see the loot drop and scramble to grab it before others save for long-winded battles like event/world bosses, make players roll on those. BOOM economy isn’t inflated due to there being 4x the items because the little sweethearts just MUST be rewarded all the time simply for playing, not getting better at it. BOOM it’s way more satisfying and interesting when you grab the items that drop. BOOM it creates another dimension to the item game. BOOM it creates heavy player interaction. BOOM it creates bonds in game regarding trust. BOOM clans all of a sudden are meaningful.

Item competition is detrimental to trading and the economy but no one is talking about it. PLEASE start talking about how important this was in D2 and how instanced loot (4x loot) created WAYYYY too many items in the world leading to everything being worthless or inflated beyond reason. Item sinks/item competition need to come back! It was a challenge. It would work flawlessly now since no bots, pickit hacks, etc.

I can’t disagree more, I do t want people and their auto looting macros taking all the damn loot. Having your own loot was the single best upgrade from D2 to D3. Now, if the loot was just tradable in a way that has already been done for a decade in other games… cough auction house cough

Go play D2 since you love it so much.

I couldn’t agree more! I want to play D4 with new experiences not D2 remastered.

Right, there were aspects that D3 got right. I can think of 3, auto gold pickup, individual loot and smooth gameplay mechanics…

auto looting macros? No it won’t exist if the game revolves around item competition. Blizzard won’t have it. Think real world economy and resource competition and what makes it interesting. In D3 we’re all just getting everything for oursleves all the time and the only thing that relates to chance is item drop %. Very one dimensional. The only problem with D2 was the hacks because it wasn’t always online so they had pickit and junk to grab items. Like I said, for large events give us rolls and for regular monster hunting let us compete for the items so we can have a successful economy with actual value in items instead of oversaturated and inflated poo from D3’s instanced hold your hand loot system.

So you want people with better internet and latency to have a huge advantage over others because they can see and click on the loot faster, seems like the worst possible plan ever. At the beginning of D3 yellows were highly sought after because drop rates were horribly low and there was no “inflation”. People using bots destroyed that economy by over saturating the market with gold. The best way to control inflation is to eliminate botting, and the best way to make the game fair for everyone is instanced loot.

I loved/ still love D2, but my main was an Amazon. Ranged classes were always at a disadvantage for picking up loot in D2. Not only that, but I remember people would stop trying to kill something when it was close to death just so they could get up close to try and snatch the loot, no thanks.
