it would be nice if d3 allowed persons to set low or high level limits and be able to start those games the same as d2. that would allow the high rated players to play with high rated players and avoid low life scum like my character without booting them out before the game starts because they dont like the character or the level it is. many people start a game and boot every one taht comes in. that is sad because sometimes games are hard to find . esp for people trying to level faster . it would be nice to avoid those people that just want to play with a high level. maybe put in some options for doing p level 2500 and above for those that want high level teams.
Pubs have always been pubs. They went lazy with the match making. A simple feature to select paragon limit would be a huge help. Another easy fix would be locking rifts/GRs when bounties are selected. If they havenât improved it over the last decade, doubt it is going to get fixed now.
Best solution is to join a community or two for the content you will to run in a group. It does take longer to get a group together, but the quality of the group is substantially better.
While itâd be a worthy addition that also would slow the matchmaking system for everyone. Current matchmaking, only gets you hastily in a game with lowest possible latency so your gaming experience wouldnât get shrouded by it. The system you mention require paragon level brackets as much as the desired role in the meta which is just trouble to stir. Loading the system up with extra details for comfort is always nice but being a decade old game, D3 already lost its traffic to make this change any worthwhile.
Also, donât think any high Paragon level player would be accepted because they have some high Paragon level. Their build could be off-meta, where they only played 2p or 3p games. Else, their role wouldnât fit the 4p meta team and they may not have the required role in their roster. You may need the second ZDps but a trash-killer with no ZDPS on their roster might join. This is the pitfall of the brackets and restrictions.
When you are way into the Season, not many high paragon level players would stick around to join public Greater Rift matches but rely on Clans and Communities for it to work through. Restrictions in the system can be nice on paper, but at practical appliance things can take more effort than its worth. Current system only prioritize the comfort of the player and it just works, if you want system to prioritize player status more than the technical side of things, then you may have more hurdles than you imagine.
Some people just donât suffer a fresh player well when all they want is hitting a high Greater Rift and have fun. Thereâs a reason SSF exists and Altar makes it plenty easier to level up to your first 70.
that is true it is easy to level up, but we dont get to chose what game we are in, if i get in a game with my lowley 1200 or less character and people dont like that , its not my fault and i still deserve a place to play
Join a clan that is more accommodating of players at all paragon levels. At P1200, you ought to be able to run zdps without issues. Shouldnât find it hard to get into a game with P2500+ players and not be dead weight.
Thatâs from someone who usually hits P1300 or less per season and hasnât found it hard to group up in a decade.
Here we go again. Same old same old.
Youâre complaining yet again about getting booted from games. Methinks the problem most likely isnât with the other players.
Where did you dredge this reply from? Voracityâs underpants?
People have posted some lovely, helpful responses while youâve gone off on one without reading the post. Congratulations.
Meanwhile, to the OP, donât be afraid to friend request people you encounter who are doing a good job at bounties or whatever activity youâre doing. Can be easier forming a group if there are people to hand who might want to play too.
Iâm doing the SSF thing so I have no overview what the lay of the land is, group-wise, but looking at the leaderboards, Iâd be tending to look for active communities rather than clans with the lower number of active players.
As for bounties, unless youâre trying to farm a specific bounty piece like RoRG or Gloves pf Worship, I think itâs more efficient for mats to open up a Not the Cow level with a Bovine Bardiche and clear it with your favourite bounty build. Iâll clear it until a vision opens and immediately dive in. I like to try and see how far I can get with continuing my kill streaks.
Alternatively, if Iâm out of cow sticks, Iâll clear Fields of Misery, the northern border of Festering Woods, level 3 of the Halls of Agony, and the Temple of the Firstborn level 1 and 2.
If you are responding to Grimmi, then he has a point about OP:
Last season I was doing a lot of Weeping Hollows (looking for Den of the Fallen for Wirtâs Original Leg⌠never got it), and then Temple of the Firstborn. The density from the latter would always get me a Fissure.
And yeah, Fissures are the way to go now for all mats, keys, gems and I dare say even gear. Iâve gotten so many primals and decent ancients from doing them. Cow levels usually open 2-4 fissures for me.
OP may need to gear better though⌠when I looked yesterday, the all ancient M6 build they created was missing a metric tonne of crit, and he had rerolled secondary stats on items that sorely needed a main stat changed (e.g. the gloves were ruined by not rolling crit damage on them, and he had a red gem in his weapon). He didnât even have a generator to proc Wraps of Clarity.
I suspect heâs getting booted because others take one look as his unoptimised build and know heâs going to be carried.
I am not out of line here. OP absolutely does have a history of complaining on forums about being vote-kicked from games, bad-mouthing players that have booted him, and playing the victim card.
I do agree with him that the matchmaking for pubs is horrible. Actually, itâs non-existent.
However, if you join a pub game, you should have a build thatâs appropriate for the task at hand, whether it be a speed farm for bounties/visions/rift keys, or an appropriate DPS or support for GR. If youâre in a pub and a player offers or asks to do ENs, you should have an appropriate DPS build saved in the Armory for that, too.
Iâm guessing that part of OPâs issue is that maybe heâs not making good choices of builds for the games heâs joining? I prefer playing DH, so I have a speed farm, a low-tier speed GR DPS, a ZDH, and an EN-specific build all saved. Hit Armory, click, bingo, ready for whatever.
i do have several builds, i may have a history of complaining but overall i rarely every get booted , but when i do it hurts because i paid money and anyone that paid money should be able to get in to games without being booted. that is why they need to set limits. believe me i dont enjoy b%#$$# ing about other players, but we deserve to be able to play in games to. just now i got into a game and got booted without a word said to me. they were all 2500 or above. the problem is, torment 16 is really easy they should fix the game so if they want to play GR 130 or above they could set it at that. that is what makes d2 and d4 thousands of times better than d3 nobody gets booted in d2 or d4. this realy makes me wanna quit d3 for good, but it used to be my favorite. by the way i read all the responses.
To be fair, the people who booted you paid for the game as well. Theyâre certainly entitled to choose not to play with you if they deem your build isnât what theyâre looking for. Their time is no less valuable than yours.
Edit: now I stop to think about it, it may not have been your build. It may have been your playstyle or even your behaviour in town. Were you too busy rolling things or salvaging and IDing every single rift? Were you always the last to click go on a GR? Did you accidentally click pylons without nems? Were you exposing pylon spawn points without adequate progression? If you were zdh, were you staying close to the dps to ensure they got your buffs? If you were zbarb were you stomping too much and making monsters cc immune? A lot of questions. People havenât kicked others from their games out of sheer spite for a long time. The player base is too small for that.
In fact, if weâre equating this to sheer âzero sumâ mathematics, their collective time is 3x more valuable than his.
the problem and issue with blizzard and diablo 3 is, they allow punks to control who gets to play, when i want to play in a group i have no choice with what game i get into or who its with, blizzard in diablo 3 is allowing a few pun k jerks to control who gets to play and when . that is totally unfair for people playing a public game. diablo 2 and 4 are not like this. no one person or group should have the power to boot others out simply because they dont like their build or how they play. we all paid for the game. that is why i said if these punk jerks want to dictate who gets to play then give them a way to make their own little private games and take away their boot privileges. i dont have the power to get into my own games so its unfair for me to play a public game and get booted before i get a chance to play because everyone is 3k plus and im only 17 hundred. or they let me waste a key before booting. honestly there are a of good people on d3 , but the few bad ones that want to control the whole game ruin it for others. me i never ever initiate a boot. i dont want to see people booted, not everyone is a bot or a professional player. which is another reason these jerks that are booting or are professional players that sit on the puter or game all darn day need to have the ability to create their own games then people like me would not stumble into their games on no fault of our own. these jerks act like we are destroying their fun . another problem is the people that live to get on the leader boards, and they go to every length possible to attain it, even botting to level up.
Dude, now youâre just copy-pasting:
Any further nonsense will just be reported.
This guy clearly keeps a screwdriver in their cutlery drawer.
I wouldâve said theyâre making a fair point and the trio shouldnât be using pubs to find someone but communities are all but dead on NA. I just took a look and the usual rifting groups I was a part of are ghost towns now. Maybe they had a guy who wasnât available or has quit for the season and were desperate⌠but not that desperate.
As I said before, kicking someone in this current state of the game is a sign something was really wrong with the person kicked.
Maybe they decided one or all of:
- 3-player was more efficient or
- OP just wasnât worth the effort to train or
- It became apparent that OP wasnât willing to listen (I donât know why but their posts on the forum scream this at me
)
Some practical solutions for OP:
- Learn the current meta especially the zdps roles if youâre low paragon. If youâre low paragon, youâll NEVER be the dps roles. Ever. Youâre wasting their time and yours.
- Learn group etiquette and donât be afraid to ask.
- Play SSF and avoid this kerfuffle altogether
- Go on your own way but understand people are going to keep kicking you if youâre wasting their time.
- Play D4!
and that is why those people should have the ability to make their own games for their group and completely block certain levels, then we lower players would not stumble into their open to the public games. it is also why i spend way more time in d4. its an all around better game. i just wanted to play different characters in the season. dedicate one or two characters to a season this season its dh
Taking a look at OPâs profile⌠I think they need to dial back a step and learn how to spec up a zdps build properly let alone play one properly.
I mean, ruby in the weapon slot?
Wearing 4pc M6 with RORG? Could have squeezed in an Aquila! And used GoD set instead to get around faster.
Using the MS Arsenal rune instead of Windchill?
Hellfire ring?
The list goes on especially if I start picking at the stats on the gear.
Definitely does not look like any other player Iâve played with thatâs over P1000.
I rarely go beyond P1200 and even Iâll kick the OP for gearing this badly and wasting my time.
Communities may be almost dead, but there are still a few active clans. That way OP could speak to some of the members before starting a game and not have to rely on a bunch of rando âpunksâ.
Thank you for proving my point.
Furthermore:
If you display this kind of attitude in-game as well as on the forums, of course youâre going to get booted; if you join a pub GR game with the god-awful pseudo-ZDH build thatâs currently showing on your profile, youâre probably gonna get kicked out for that too.
Having said all that, Iâm still gonna send you a friend request tonight so I can try to help you out. Iâm also going to send you a group invite to Mayhem Masters so we can use voice chat (assuming that 1. you have a headset & speak English, 2. play on PC, 3. are on Americas servers.)
