I like the introduction of the primal recipe on the cube, and understand the current restrictions of locking it so only 1 of that type of crafted primal can be equipped at a time, however I feel like this kind of just adds another recipe to the cube that will eventually be ignored and forgotten once you are geared. I was thinking of how to fix this to make the recipe more functional going forward. So here are my thoughts:
First, remove the restriction of having only 1 equipped and you can have as many as you want equipped and can make. Next make it so you don’t get the exact item you put in as a primal, instead, you would get another of the same item as a primal. So if you add a helm you would get a random primal helm back that you character can use, but not necessarily the one you want. This will allow for a smaller pool of primals to pull from but still maintain RNG and will allow the restriction of 1 primal only, to be removed and possibly gear up in primals through the cube if your drop RNG is bad. It would also allow the recipe to stay the same cost and the primordial ashes to be kept at 55 per primal salvage.
Not sure how others feel about it, but I like using cube recipes and would like to see more things that encourage players to experiment with the cube instead of having recipes that you use once ever few days to weeks or even months depending on play style.
No, honestly its fine the way it is.
I would rather have it have a cap then add another layer of bloody RnG.

In most cases I would actually agree that a cap is better than dealing with RNG, however in this case I feel differently only because this is a recipe that is added to all characters not just seasonal. So now primals can no longer be salvaged to Forgotten Souls they only give Primordial Ashes and once you have the primal you want that is crafted those ashes will basically accrue while you deal with RNG of primals for the entire loot table instead of just for the item type that you want like a weapon or something like that. Unless there are more recipes or uses for Primordial Ashes added in the future I can see it being a negative overall.
All you are really doing here is providing a way for people to further shortcut the primal grind.
It will still be faster than finding them directly. And those out there with big pockets (lots of mats, time and primals in stash) are only going to end up fully decked out in primals in a few minutes.
As I said, its better that it remains as is, for the game. After all, once you have everything in Primal, everything maxed out, what’s left to do? And if you shortcut that further with the change you propose, you are only shortening the game further.
I still think its the right call, the way it is setup. And originally when it was first added I would have agreed with you, but I have had time to think about it.
But, that is my opinion, so take it as you will.
Game on.
I can see your point as well. And would concede that it could shorten the game for a few, but could also give access to a method for primals to people who have a harder time farming them.
Even if they don’t change it, I would hope they add something else that will use the primordial ashes otherwise the trash primals will truly be worthless since you won’t be able to get forgotten souls out of them anymore. They won’t be trash right away but once you get your crafted primal.
I posted here to voice my own opinion and for others to chime in so I appreciate your response and recognize your position as well. Thanks!
The rule is that you can only wear one, not only make one.
You make a weapon but then eventually get another version of that weapon that’s really good. So you decide you’d like quad gloves, so you roll those. Eventually you get really good gloves, but you’d like a better ring.
Rinse and repeat for every build. You will never have too many ashes if you’re really trying to min max builds.
