bought the game, installed the client, login but the play button is not responding to a click, it’s sort of gray and when pointed it pop up “this game cannot be played”!
I log out, retry, close in task manager the client, disinstalled and reinstalled the battle.net client, tried many things, but I cannot play 
And I try to launch the beta not the game that is not yet downloadble!
Meet the requirements, new PC recently bought and zero issues.

I solved it.
First I uninstalled the game and then deleted manually the Diablo 2 Resurrected Beta folder (D:\Diablo II Resurrected Beta) which was left even after uninstall.
I logged off, closed the battle.net launcher, opened the task manager and closed “battle.net update agent” which was still running in the background. I logged back into the launcher and reinstalled the beta. Suddenly it worked.
I assume the solution was the manuall deletion of the D:\Diablo II Resurrected Beta folder.
