The "reworked" set of Rathma

Any chance we could get the old Rathma set back? I mean, the necromancer has always been a synonym for a summoner for most of us, and yet we’re left with a set that has zero minion damage, and the only damage source is a skill with massive cooldown?

I don’t want to sound entitled, but summoning is the only reason I bought the necromancer for, which is why this “rework” made me so mad that I stopped playing necro entirely.

Yes, I am aware of the LoD gem, but that’s not really a solution, besides, damage reduction from LoD is lower than any other set. Besides, I’m not able to level it up all the way to 150 to get the same bonus as a set would provide.

Why can’t we get something in between? Keep AotD damage bonus and permanent revives, but remove cooldown reduction and add minion damage bonus for every minion (or mage) alive up to X. Please, Diablo 3 team, hear our prayers.

Yeah I think necro should have a set dedicated to pure pet damage. Theoretically, you can play tragouls and/or inarius with pets. One buffs blood spells and the other buffs everything as long as it is in melee range and hits monsters with bone armor. So mages setups should work with both these sets. But they are not preferred right now since blood nova seems to be many times stronger. Only thing we can hope is to see a rework in the future in one of the other sets, probably Pestilence, which I doubt it will happen since it would mean losing the corpse lance which is kind of a signature build for necromancers, albeit very weak at the moment.

I think I’ll give Trag Oul set a shot, it seems to be closest to what I want, I guess.
I heard that some people used mages with Inarius set, but close range limitation kinda defeats the purpose IMO.
Thanks for the suggestion though!

No worries. Tragouls used to be played at some point with blood mages and it was suited for farming lower to mid GRs. This season everything is stronger so maybe it could be a decent alternative farming build.

Damage reduction from LOD is not lower than any set. Especially when you consider all the other DR you get from legendaries. LOD builds are tanky almost always.

Blood Mage is an excellent farming build because you get Jesseth set plus Scythe of the Cycle in the cube so two 400% modifiers plus Trag 6 piece bonus.
