Been saying it for about 10years now… Marius is coming back in Diablo4
When Baal kills him while saying
“I think you should have your reward”
Baal is actually killing him so he can reborn in the burning hells as a Demon
Throughout Diablo history we see that those who flirt or help Hell come back as demon, Blood Raven, Adria, Izual, etc
-
marius has been chosen beforehand by Diablo
-
marius has been the companion of Diablo for months…
-
Marius freed Baal
-
Marius kept Baal soulstone safe and gave it back to him
-
Marius was in presence of Baal, mephisto and Diablo and fricking lived to talk about it
I’m telling you, Marius should be coming back in Diablo 4 as a boss. Not only for nostalgia sake but also to know his story.
What we don’t know is Why marius was Smoking in that Tavern, maybe he was smoking because of what he has done in the past, horrible things that warrant him being chosen by evil forces and makes him entitled to become a demon
He should have a giant bald head and smoke opiom and blow the smoke on you as an attack

A vision of Marius is in Act IV, summoned by Diablo in attempt to psychologically harm/demoralize Tyrael.
So, that means he’s been in Diablo, acted as narrator of sorts of Diablo 2, and is not much but an illusion in Diablo 3… does he need to be in Diablo 4?
Depends on when in the timeline, I guess. There are openings. Its not like the most casual player is even going to notice.
Someone is smoking too much wacky tobacky. Get out of the house and go for a walk.

Leoric, Adria and butcher were in D3 despite only being in Diablo 1 previously
Honestly, I’ll be surprise if Marius ever does come back (not as an illusion like in Diablo 3), while also having a substantial role. I doubt he could offer anything that any of the major demons in Hell would want, besides being easily manipulatable that is.
Maybe that in the world, the more evil things you’ve done, the more powerful your demonic form will be
We could learn that Marius was a citizen of Tristram, that he’s the one responsible for its downfall.
He could have be Lazarus left arm, the one that plugged the soulstone in albretch
Water bender Bends water
Evil bender bends the evil hidden within
Leoric and The Butcher are icons.
Marius… I suppose you seem to care. That’s a whole 1. Wow. I bet that means something.
It’s another Bravata sock poppet. Same IQ…
Not a very well-received opinion I see.
Aaaah this why it was familiar.
Lol the dude narrated the best game of the franchise… nobody lol
Marius was a dimwit who was incinerated, good riddance.

It’s a mental asylum mate… not a prison
Edit: my bad dyslexia made me read incarcerated instead of incinerated
But what does that bring that he got burned? The whole point of what I said is that he needed to die to be respawned in the burning hells as a demon, that’s his reward
Avalon was saying that Marius was incinerated (burn to ashes), not Incarcerated (to be imprisoned).

You’d think with all this time on his hands he could actually have a good understanding of the lore.
1, Marius’s soul was never contained inside a vessel to be used later to be reborn so it was lost the the ether.
2, only demons and possibly angels can be reborn if they die without their souls being captured.
3, all the free souls were devoured by Malthael so Marius is long gone.
Marius won’t return, just like Cain won’t return in on of his previous threads, nor will we be able to choose a faction if siding with the burning hells or high heavens, since none of these suggestions make any sense more coincides in the slightest with existing lore.

He needed to be a Demon first. Which he wasn’t. So he can’t.

His promised reward was just a carrot at the end of a stick to keep him going. He was never getting anything of value other than his death to rid himself of the torments he was dealing with.
