I usually play sader and dh, also read some guides on maxroll.gg. Most sader and dh builds use sliver of terror socked into the helm, it is extremely powerful, don’t get me wrong, but there is a problem with it…
sliver of terror also increased cooldown by 25%, which means we have to get extra cdr roll on other gears to perma vengeance and akra champion, but it looks like on maxroll they didn’t emphasize this kind of problems, they did told us to roll cdr, but not as much as after put the sliver of terror, usually they said 3 gears with cdr so you can perma vengeance, but with sliver of terror u need at least 2 or 3 more pieces with cdr to perma vengeance, that means we will be also lack of other stats…not sure if it’s worth it or not, or should we switch to other soul shards instead of sliver of terror? idk, maxroll didn’t tell us to switch either, because perma vengeance and akra champion is so important in hc or else it’s gonna be so squishy…
Essence of Anguish first power gives 25% CDR, so they nullify each other more or less.
I’m using Fragment Of Destruction and find it works pretty good on my DH so long as i don’t push too high of GR. But incase i do get a little crazy I’m also using Molten Wilderbeast to compensate. I will drop that when i get properly geard up and augmented.
I put in the extra CDR and it works great with my GoD DH. For neph rifts and bounties, I use the Captain Crimson set and cube the Hunters Wrath belt for even more CDR, and since CC gives damage, I don’t mind having extra. Plus, you don’t really need that much damage doing neph rifts or bounties.
A couple of the top DH builds, especially M6 ones, don’t do perma-vengeance.
As far as squishiness goes, you also have to remember that you get 12.5% dmg reduction per skill on cd (and 12.5% dmg buff too). I can only think of 1 ability where there is a CD that starts after the ability is expired (dh’s smokescreen) making a gap between usage and CD, all other abilities have the CD start immediately when you use the ability. The dmg reduction is potentially a 100% uptime. You just have to remember to hit the buttons.
At 4 CD abilities, you get 50% dmg reduction. That’s really good.
My own experience is that if I use an ability, then build 10 stacks to get 25% cdr, the ability that went on CD before the stacks doesn’t benefit from 25% CDR. Not sure if anyone else has noticed it.
NOTE: The next casting of that ability with the 10-stacks will get the benefit though
Yeah, that is true .
There’s a couple more on other classes, e.g. Spirit Walk, Serenity. Invulnerability skills generally have their cooldowns start after they end, that was a change they made a few years ago to prevent people from abusing permanent invulnerability.
Probably a silly question but I’m not really sure about it…
Are your (and those of your follower as they appear on your sheet) cheat deaths considered a skill with cooldown? What about using a potion?
