Through numerous posts, I have made my views known on the horrible RNG that powers the Primal-Soul-O Primal item given upon completion of the first GR70 during the season.
This trip through the gate served to yet again reinforce my views that the RNG system in this game is retardedly stupid, and that certain functions in this game desperately need parametric randomization.
Playing a Demon Hunter, I just completed another first GR70, and the unmitigatedly benighted and utterly obtuse RNG system dropped me a Primal Mordullu’s Promise, a Witch Doctor’s axe.
On seeing that thing I could only laugh in disbelief, and my computer, contributing to my incredulity, blue-screened itself to death on the spot.
I’ve picked up some useless Primals, but this one takes the cake. I will never, ever, play a hard-core Witch Doctor.
You think RNG is bad for you try not getting a single Primal Yang in game since it was added to game on both EU and NA server.
I’m currently 1430 paragon on EU S18 and I haven’t seen a single primal Yang, DML, Squirt’s, FoT or in fact any good ancient Squirt’s Necklace or FoT at all…
Putting this much RNG in ancient or primal legendaries or sets kills any motivation to further play the game at all…
RNG is bad for some, good for some. You can even bot all you want, still you don’t have all good primal.
Real issue for me is there are too much junk in the mix, too many useless legendary with higher drop rate. That’s why you see too many 15 instant soul.
Yes this game has been Trolling me for quite a few months now with undesirable Primal Ancient items, for example, I now am the proud owner of 2, yes TWO almost matching Primal Fletcher’s Prides and a drum roll please, 2 almost perfectly matching Primal Augustine’s Panacea. Do you think I can roll a decent Holly Point Shot after hundreds, if not thousands of that same quiver dropping one way or another, not a chance in Hell!
They say that good luck and bad luck will eventually even out in this game, don’t believe them, it is a lie!

Eh, I kind of agree. The smart loot system should drop items for your class at least. i was playing sader S17 and got a barb only belt for my GR70. I grind a lot and most of my primals are bad, so I just laughed and shrugged it off.
Honestly, I was more mad at having done 50 sets of bounties + 25 reforges and not getting one ancient illusory boots. Friend started the season late, did one set of bounties and got ancient illusory. I actually got so triggered I stopped playing for a bit lol.
Primal drops are bound by the normal smart drop rules. My recollection is that 15% of the time your drop will be for another class. I think you have at least 6 accounts. For the first “70” primal that drops, you expect roughly 1 in 7 not to be your class. You have multiple accounts (6, I think but I lost track). If you play multiple accounts, you expect this to happen statistically.
LOL, My first primal dagger was a 10 ed 7 as karlei dagger. Then of course blizzard changed the game and added the impale damage. Now 15 more primal daggers in and still have not gotten one to roll with ed or as yet, but got several lord greenstone fan ones that did. I rather have less drops if they rolled better or allowed us to roll them better.
Oh, I hear you there. I’ve got a really nice lightning-based ancient HPS on my Impale DH and I’ve been re-forging spare ones for over a year to try and get a cold version that beats it. I’ve had five or six primals in that time, all terrible, and not had a single ancient that’s better than the one I already have equipped. I think I had around 6000 of each bounty material after the double-bounties season (I did very little else but bounties for three months) and I’m down to about 1600 of each now, so that’s almost 900 reforges.
Sure, you win with 3 of a kind to my 2 pairs, and you say you aren’t lucky!
I did the same thing with the Augustine’s and made a Ball Lightning build, a totally fun build in day’s gone by but unfortunately it’s wayyyyyy to slow for today’s game. All you get is a large set of Blue Balls!
Ouch! I feel your pain! I went trough around 4000 bounty mats at that time of double bounty’s and swore a lot and I still have the original HPShot I started with.
Did I ever tell you how much I hate doing bounty’s?
I do maybe 3 reforges a Season. The results are always so horrible that I find the time taken to collect the necessary mats is a waste that rivals watching a 10-gallon pot of water boil from a block of ice using a Bic lighter as the heat source.
And Meteorblade, yo must be the luckiest bugger on the planet…
