The Horadrim should be the final class reveal of Diablo 4

I hoping for “The Horadrim” class

[Disclaimer: im talking about the real Horadrim, mage clans, jered Cain, Tal Rasha, zoo tan Kull…not the weak sauce in reaper of souls hahaha

https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Horadrim

—————

A class that wield both Light and Dark magic. Travelled the world to learn everything about the lost knowledge of the Horadrim and the Vizjerei

Animate weapons to fight for you like the Horadric magic that animates the scimitar in the Tal Rasha tomb

Use scrolls

https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/diablo/images/2/27/HoradricScroll.gif

animation to perform incantations, possibly to summon demons on a leash to fight for you

Wield artefacts and horadric constructs, use knowledge to defeat evils

Temporarily yet randomly imbue your items with buffed properties like the Horadric Mallet. Imbue your boots to run faster or explode on steps. Imbue your shield for extra block or effects when you block like explosions or Knockback. Imbue your weapon with different elements or effects

Summon legendary weapons from a distant vault to fight with or animate

Let’s not forget that the Horadrim were fighters as well(that’s why Tal Mask has leech), this class would be like the Paladin, half combat, half Magic

Barb got fury, sorceress got mana, Druid got spirit and The Horadrim got Worldstone shards, developed the knowledge to harness its power

———————-

This could be a deep story class, it could literally be Cain’s brother but I think the better story would be that it’s Cain’s son, tradition of the Horadrim to send you male child, upon reaching a certain young age for a training journey . After hearing of his fathers murder by a sloppy writer, he went on a journey across sanctuary to learn all magic power he could, good or dark. this would be a nice way to put a more decent closure on Cain’s death.

Horadrims were the order responsible for pushing back Evil intrusion in sanctuary so many times, it would make so much sense to finally play as one for the encounter with Mother

and horadrim not mages?

We already have mages in D4 in the form the Sorc. Plus, we already know the next class will have heavy armor based on the silhouette.

It may be possible for the last class to be based on the Horadrim, but it’ll be more likely to be based on the Diablo 3 variants (like Lorath), which I believe would infuriate the OP.

Either way, I don’t think we’ll see the Horadrim as a playable class, since that would imply that the order was still operating fine (or at least fine enough), and according to the developers, that’s not likely, as they had said:

“Even the Horadrim are but mad old men, talking to themselves, talking to graves, clutching their bottles as hard as they once clutched their swords.”

Taken from BlizzCon 2019 Diablo 4 Unveil at 3:33:

So from that, it’s highly unlikely for the Horadrim to be the last class. As Beefhammer said, the last class is likely be some heavy armored and/or shielded warrior. However whether or not, the class will be a returnee (Paladin or Crusader), or something completely new to the playable roster is anyone’s guess.

I hate bagging on this guy, but for someone who’s here to talk D4 and a self proclaimed lore expert, he sure doesn’t seem to keep up with what’s out there already for D4 and what actually happened in D3.

As you said, they mentioned they are few and old. With 90% of us being erased, a strong and plentiful Horadrim just ain’t gonna happen.

I personally think that the old Horadrim at the grave is Lorath Nahr. I do not believe that he is talking to Tyrael.
I also do not believe that the bald man with Lilith is Rahtma. But I could be 100% incorrect.

It’s definitely possible for the person to be Lorath Nahr, especially since the time frame between Diablo 3 RoS and Diablo 4 was decade(s). However, if it were Lorath, then my major question would be whose grave was he at? Tyrael’s? Or perhaps some nameless Horadrim we’ve yet to meet?

So many questions, so little answers.

He calls him Brother, did Lorath ever refer to Tyrael as Brother? I do not remember.

I do not believe he is talking to Cain, because Cain was cremated decades earlier.

No, however there’s always the possibility that after the events of Diablo 3 RoS, Lorath rose higher through the ranks of the Horadrim and effectively became Tyrael’s right hand man. Also, I honestly can’t imagine Tyrael still being alive (unless someone got him hidden away) with the world in the state it’s in.

In the original video, it was Rathma. Very quickly, they removed the name and changed it to a generic name that sounded like a class it something. Talking about the CC and encoding.

Rathma has no reason to summon his mother or work with the Triune unless Sanctuary was in desperate peril and she was the only way to return the balance.

As for Lorath, I believe it is him as well and I 100% believe he’s talking to Tyrael’s grave.

Horadrim are not necceraly mages. So they could be some sort of spear and polearm wielding warriors/knights kind of stuff.

Decades have passed a rookie in awe of a god most certainly have a different relationship with him 20+ years later especially after a genocide that plunged the world back into their dark age. Plus Cain was cremated and has no grave.

But the Horadrim isn’t a sexy sell for the general public as a holy knight archetype. Even within the Diablo fanbase. I’d rather they stay in the background personally.

He is now called Magnus, who was Magnus?

Well they changed how RoS starts. Where originaly Imperius beats up Tyrael, and Malthael snatches the Black Soulstone. So the corruption of Imperius still could be on the table, where we’ll come across Lorath who tells us the story how Tyrael got killed by Imperius before shuting heavens gates. An ex-angel will not die of old age i’m certain.

Ty. Couldn’t remember the name. Someone high up in the Triune if I had to guess and new to the IP.

I hope so. Imperius has a beating coming to him at the behest of my Barbarian.

Yeah they probably be NPCs than playable characters.

Interesting.:ok_hand:

Mybe in an expansion, not in the base game, we just killed one angel.

Yeah, besides, they haven’t done a good job of keeping the evil at bay.
