Since AH been removed gold been pretty useless and alot of ppl seem to share that concern. Ive seen suggestions in different threads but it would be easier to have one thread about it.
(Might alrdy be one).
The issue with gold as i see it is that its rly ez to obtain (Boon of the hoarder) while it holds no value and ppl got no use of it other than repair items and a few extra gem upgrades.
My idea:
For bounties:
Remove crafting materials from bounties and make crafting cost gold only. (That way we wont need to farm different acts for different materials)
Bounties give cache with gold. Clearing more than 1 act results in the caches being upgraded to a higher lvl. (Max lvl 5).
The chest will give u: (The gold u recieved in “open world” x2 + A set amount from the chest) x (the lvl of the chest).
The gold recieved in Rifts wont count as only the gold recieved on open maps will. Ppl who play and arent afk and solo player will by default get more gold than the leechers in town This idea also removes the oppertunity for botters to clear bounties on seperate account as gold isnt tradable.
For Normal Rifts:
Always cost gold to open(maybe?)
Gem of the hoarder wont give extra gold but increase effectivness of Goldwrap and the duration (Should be able to use the combo still just without extra gold drop.)
For GR:
Always cost gold to open (maybe?)
Remove gold dropped from GR.
Instead of extra gem upgrade: Gold will increase the exp gained that run.
Pay gold to open GR without key
Extended timer for gold 15->20 min
Story mode:
Gold recieved for clearing quests in story mode will be increased and gain more the further u get into the story. (Tweaked to compete with bounties, maybe based on time?).
So, bots will farm gold at night, and then the gold is used to get the botters even more XP when they’re doing their XP META farming? I’d much rather be able to put even more gold into the obelisk for more gem upgrade rolls for when you’re levelling loads of gems for augments.
Yeah, the game really needs more gold sink options but to able to bypass GR keys and crating mats with gold alone will make the botters cried in joy.
So far, gold only useful when you are empowering the GR for an extra gem upgrade. I wish we have more options to empower the GR with gold for extra EXP gain in GR, or more legendary drop so we can get more Forgotten Souls indirectly and etc.
Bots alrdy got unlimited bounty mats. However it will stop the secondary accs for bounties. Should mean botters are forced to bot on their main which might scare some botters off. Also prevent the shared bounties.
This thread isnt only about my idea. As its for everyone to share their thought about how to tackle the Gold issue
I doubt so because if they do, they would have all primals equipped at the S23 leaderboard but it would be a reality if they can bypass everything with gold though.
As already stated, gold is simply too plentiful; even moreso for those who don’t empower their greater rifts. Unfortunately I don’t see any new gold sinks (that’s actually impacting) being added to the game at this point.
Now I hope there are sidequests in Diablo 4 that involve similar scenarios, with of course, a wicked/hellish twist.
I dont only want gold sink. But making gold harder to come by. As bounties being the main source of cash. Lowering the gold gain in normal rifts and removing the gold gain in GR.
The cost for crafting can be tweaked to suit the idea of removing mats for crafting
One things is that it would be nice to get rid of the usual argument that doing this or that would benefit the botters too much. Blizzard needs to put a stop (somehow) to botting once and for all.
Another thing is that you can’t both use Boon of the Hoarder and Goldwrap to be fast and invulnerable in T16 farming and then complain about having too much useless gold. Because the gold has already been useful when farming.
Of course some kind of sensible gold sink would be welcome.
Mystic. Empowered rerolling. Let me pay more for an affix to be rolled with a maximum value. The fee should scale with the rerolls though. Maybe just 10x the normal reroll price?
Urshi. Empowered gem ups. Pay the empowered rift value for 5% increased base chance to upgrade your legendary gem. Cannot raise 0% to 5%, but can raise 1% to 6%. This will allow players who cannot find meta groups to have a shorter path to reach max level gems. Essentially clearing an empowered GR135 without a death, will produce a 30% chance to upgrade a 141-tier gem once for 5x the empowering fee.
Rifts. Empowered rifts. 100,000,000 gold fee to gain double the keys, materials and death breaths, but gold no longer drops.
Haedrig. Empowered crafting. Pay 1,000,000,000 gold and double the materials for a 3x increased chance to get an ancient rolled item.
Shen. Empowered jewelry crafting. Same as Haedrig, 1,000,000,000 and double materials for triple the chance of receiving an ancient level 70 Hellfire item.
Pay nothing extra…
Craft 10 legendary items, using 10 times the individual material cost.
The 1 in 10 chance would result in an average of 1 ancient.
Pay one billion gold…
Craft 10 legendary items, using 20 times the individual material cost.
The 3 in 10 chance would result in an average of 3 ancients.
Pay nothing extra…
Craft 30 legendary items, using 30 times the individual material cost.
The 1 in 10 chance would result in an average of 3 ancients.
So, that’s a choice between…
1 billion gold + 20 times the materials
0 gold + 30 times the materials.
This would only make sense if 10 times the materials were worth more than a billion gold.
Does it matter what kinda gold sink they give us? In non season I empower rifts in speeds even though my gems are all too high to get upgrades. We burnin gold just to get a giggle!!!
