The Diablo IV Limited Collector’s Box does not include Game?

Are you Serious?

Note: The Diablo IV Limited Collector’s Box does not include a copy of the game—this is a separate purchase.

I mean… it doesn’t say Collectors Edition…

The game and the box are two different things.

It is so crazy i dont get it. Every other Collectors edition before have always included the Game itself.

I think that is their way of doing two things:

  1. That physical box kit looks to be the same items you can “win” with that twitter thing that was talked about earlier.

  2. Since they had previously stated they were not going to do a physical collector edition, this may have been a way to offer something akin to a physical item that hardcore game memorabilia collectors can still get.

Except they have that with the Ultimate Edition. That one includes all the game related goodies. It just doesn’t have any physical ones.

You want a box, that has a code in it, that will verify your purchase in the B.net app, when you down load the game? Because that’s what a physical copy nowadys means.

they never were in the past with other Blizzard games, including D2 and D3.

EXACTLY. This is just activision finding new ways to screw its customers over for more $$$$. It doesn’t matter to me, I have a hard pass on D4 for a variety of reasons, but I just have to laugh at how pathetic Blizzard has become.

Just… hehehe hilarious.

Its not collector edtion. Its collector box. I think its okay as price of game is not included in the price. This allow you to decide which of the game edition you want.

I think allowing you to buy the box with choice of the game eidtion at a small discount will be nice though.

Then don’t call it “collector”. It’s made only to purposely mislead the consumer on a derivative product.

It’s a box with crap aimed solely at collectors, what the hell should they call it if not that?

Diablo 4 goodies & co ?
Collector refers to classic collector editions, let’s stop pretending it’s not called that on purpose.

Of course it is on purpose, they are all aimed at the same people.

Without the game they used to have, it’s a trickery, glad we agree.

Seeing as it states in plain text that it does not include the game I don’t really see how it’s trickery. Milking the collectors, maybe, but there’s no trick.

If you are super dumb, it’s trickery.

Well, if you’re tricked to think you buy something they explicitly state you aren’t, yeah, you are dumb, doesn’t make it trickery though.

If I buy the PS4 version of the game, why doesn’t it include a PS4?
… oh wait. There is something printed on the box in fine letters…

You have to be super young to not understand that people have always been used to collector’s editions containing the very game they want to collect goodies for.

NO this is not a common practice. YES this sucks. And also YES the solution to send the goodies physically and the code by email on release date is an option that they still refuse to use for unknown reasons.

  1. Been a gamer since I got a Nes for my 5:th birthday.

Never said it was. I said it wasn’t trickery as they are entirely upfront about it.
