Tal Rasha + Resource on Crit

It’s been a while since I played Wizard at all, and even longer since I had anything close to a decent one so I am thinking of trying out Tal Rasha this season. Since I am planning on playing more builds than usual and the set is so strong currently it seems like a good time.

So I wanted to ask the more knowledgeable Wizard people, how much of a difference will the Resource on Crit node make? Will the build be just a tad stronger or just function way way better? As I understand it you will need to do some generating in between manual casts and the Star Pact version will be the one suffering the most.

I am looking at which 2 nodes I am prepared to go without since that staff requirement could be a real pain to get and I have been thinking that node is the one definite one to leave since my main build for the season won’t need it at all. So if I choose to not get that one how much will I screw myself? A tier or two, 5, or just mostly saving effort?

With APoC from altar, Deflection rune can be used instead of Conduit rune on Magic Weapon without using other skill or passive for AP generation assuming you play Comet. The extra shield from Magic Weapon will make maintaining Squirt’s Necklace damage buff easier.

For Star Pact, APoC on top of Magic Weapon - Conduit can refill AP pretty quickly as long as you hit multiple targets. Since I haven’t tried it I 'm not sure if extra AP generation is needed for single target RG.
