With there being an APoC node in the altar, has anyone tested whether we can drop the helm topaz in favour of an amethyst (life)?

For arcane you never needed a topaz in helm, it just adds damage. For cold you also wont need a topaz, but you will probably have resource issues on a single target RG.

I thought Star Pact was the most resource thirsty version so that’s why you need a generator and topaz in helm?

Star pact uses a generator to get resource. The reason for the topaz is because it reduces the 40AP cost of starpact, leaving more arcane power left for when it completely drains your resource. And for each point remaining you gain 20% damage.

So by that explanation then you DO need a topaz in your helm as you want to maximise damage.

Yea if you’re trying to min/max. But the amount of damage it gives is pretty small, maybe 3% IIRC.
