and Blizzard still insists the P2W is not required

i mean thats just 3 out of dozens of websites all saying the exact same thing does Blizzard seriously expect us to believe ALL of them are lying or making this up?

I think you missed the point. He is doing this to show how absolutely ludicrous the monetization is in this game.

He is being sarcastic. I’m not defending Maxxgold, though. Painting this game in a positive light only darkens the gaming space and other more important real life spaces.

This is pretty cringe attention seeking. Streamers throwing money away to prove a point. I already know Blizz RNG system. I played D3. Remember how many runs and mats were needed to find a specific item? Now put a price tag on it. Welcome to debt and bankruptcy.

Nearly 10k… and he didnt get one 5-star leg gem?
Such a waste of money.

Could’ve bought a real gem.

It is “only” $8.8k.

Moral of the story: don’t be a fool trying to buy something you’re not supposed to easily get.

A Fool and His Money Are Soon Parted

a fictional gem that carries a terrible curse

[Klopman diamond - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klopman_diamond)

That is not the moral of the story.

The moral is D:I has egregious monetization with RNG component where someone can spend $5k+ and never have a 5 srar legendary gem drop.

I am glad that he is doing this to illustrate the wackadoodleness of D:I monetization.

P.S. Wackadoodleness is a euphamism.

I feel that D:I 5 star gems are like D3 primal. You should play like they don’t exist.

A Diablo game with an RNG component…how intriguing.

In D3, you can not pay to increase primal drop rates. In D:I, you can pay to increase legendary gem drop rates.

You can pay for a guaranteed leg gem drop.
You can also play to earn that chance.

You CANNOT pay off RNGesus to Increase your odds of getting one.

A 0.05% drop rate is practically non-existent.

Anyone fool hardy enough to pay $4k+ for a chance to get one deserves to be separated from his money.

not the point of him doing it however what it does show is how despite the claims by Blizzard this is clearly paying REAL MONEY for a chance to gain power in a game that they insist has NO requirement to do so

you either buy from them or you end up being weaker than others that did and Blizzard has taken the premium feature to an extreme

P2W games have nudged and pressured players into spending real money but it has NEVER been taken to this level of aggressive marketing until this one was released

The gems being rare is not the problem. It is great to see a Diablo game with some rarity to their items.
Being able to pay to circumvent that rarity is the problem.

Sure. But it should not be an option in a game. It is the antithesis of gaming.

the fact anyone was able to shell out that kind of money in a mobile game shoudve been a red flag that draws the attention of gaming agencies everywhere

this goes beyond a simple oops i got double charged by my credit card by mistake this is basically the same level of money changing hands as a casino and make no mistake the gaming commision in every state with legalized gambling would be keeping an eye on them as they rightfully should

if this was an online casino that pulled this kind of agressive marketing stunt theyd find their gaming licence pulled so fast itd give the game developers a wind burn

Has it ever occurred to you that the cost is so high so that the whales CAN’T fiscally circumvent the rarity?

Kaiju Kraken - maybe. But who cares. I’m not fighting him/her.

Quin69 has lost it long since. Have you seen him playing D4 at Blizcon? Pitiful.

And he is not looking for a 5 star gem but a fully leveled 5 star gem which is a second level of RNG. Raxx made a video today where he spent 100$ and got several 5 stars, one at level 4.

why not to add option to order pizza or fast food from in game shop?

Every dollar spent goes toward circumventing the rarity.

Anyone who spends this amount of money on a phone game should be mocked and ridiculed at every opportunity, even if they have the disposable income to support it.

They are the reason why these garbage games exist and ruin it for everyone else
