Strategy guide for meteor build?

OK, after doing a run (using my Crusader) with a wizard, I took a look at the leaderboards. WOW! So I have decided that maybe this is the season I try a Wizard…

With that in mind, last night I leveled one up and have started farming T3 (ugh) for gear, and realized I really don’t understand how this build is supposed to work. So (finally) to my point- is there a strategy guide video or write-up on how to play this particular build?

Get Mempo of Twilight before anything else. That really makes the build work. You can farm on lower tiers if you are missing some of the other items, but Mempo really improves everything about the build, it just makes everything else work.

Secondly, don’t play Star Pact. At least not for now. Star Pact is bad for low content to begin with, but especially without proper gear, playing Star Pact will just be miserable.

Without Mempo, play manual Meteor Shower. Once you get Mempo, you can swap to a different rune (since Mempo gives the Meteor Shower rune).

Once you get Mempo, play either Thunder Crash (for lower content) or Comet (for mid tier content).

You’re missing the entire Tal’s set too, so you don’t need to do any shenanigans with all 4 elements. I’ll assume you’ll get Tal’s 2p and Mempo soon though. Getting Mempo and a second piece of Tal Rasha are your top priorities.

Start with this: https://maxroll.gg/d3/d3planner/323107995

Arcane generator, Lightning Meteor, Teleport, Familiar: Sparkflint, Magic Weapon: Deflection, Ice Armor: Frozen Storm

Once you get Karini and some more items, transition to this: https://maxroll.gg/d3/d3planner/956261430

Arcane generator, Cold Meteor, Teleport, Familiar: Sparkflint, Magic Weapon: Deflection, Storm Armor: Power of the Storm

Thank you! That’s exactly what I needed!

Apart from what tinne said, please don’t run T3 on your wizard. You can easily craft/gamble your way to a T16 and GR90+ capable wizard without having to play lower level rifts.

Run higher GRs on your crusader, save up blood shards, then swap into your wizard to gamble for gear on her (start with helm that can roll both tal rasha helm and mempo), then the other tal rasha pieces (remember page 4 of cube if needed) and boots for nilfurs.

Don’t gamble weapons, instead craft yellow staffs (the one at the top at blacksmith is the lvl 70 one) and upgrade in page 3 of cube. Both vizier and smouldering are staffs, and there are only like 10 staffs total, so you’ll get both weapons quickly, good chance to find both in first 20 crafts or so. Upgrade one to primal (page 11) and equip, augment with int if you have the gems and whispers, other weapon in cube.

Squirts and coe you can find on your crusader, but you need to craft karini. Craft yellow rings (the lvl 70 ones) at jeweler (essentially free, don’t waste shards on rings for upgrading), and upgrade. There are a lot of rings, and karini is hard to roll well, so unless you get lucky with a very good karini first try, you’ll probably be better of cubing karini and equipping a rorg. Or spend some bounty mats to reforge your karini into a good orange roll (at least 78%).

Craft aughilds, or perhaps better guardians.

If you end up being stuck on the gambled armour pieces, and you got your weapons and jewelry crafted and still got mats left over, then you can upgrade the gambled yellow items to speed up the process for the last armour pieces.

That should allow you to start speed farming at least GR110 in no time.

Also additionally if you want video based content rax and wudijo have some guide videos on it.

I believe both have a pushing and speed version video and rax has a push demo one as well.
