Why is everyone so hellbent on eliminating the RNG factor from a loot grind game?
Blizzard gave an inch by upping the gibbering gemstone drop rate… Now lets go for the whole mile!
Because we want high quality game content. Not repetitive low quality game content.
I think I understand… For a select group of people including yourself, high quality game content equates to getting everything NOOOOOWWWWWW!!!
In all fairness, sub-1% drop rates on items tied directly to time-limited content as a means of gatekeeping player progression is rather anti-consumer.
That being said:
This guy clearly doesn’t like the game, so it begs the question of why they’re even here.
Drop rate isnt the issue. Sometimes you have to log in and log out almost a dozen times to even get the quest. Sometimes she doesnt even spawn. Most of the time she wont drop the stone. Since when is login logout a fun grindy game?
Diablo games = Grindy games
If you don’t like grindy games, then you don’t like Diablo.
Very simple.
It’s also simple that 100,000 150s is way better than 100,000 izual runs which is exactly why D2 is trash and D4 Uber runs is trash. If you don’t understand why 1 shotting boss runs is bad repetition for ARPG, you have not played enough ARPG.
When games add guaranteed drops, or even “pity drops”, the game becomes more predictable. I believe that unpredictability is what the community craves… A game that never plays the same way twice. You can’t do that without RNG.
In Season 28, my 11+ hours of remaking games until I got the gibbering gemstone were the absolute antithesis of the sort of gameplay I crave.
… Which is likely the reason why they increased the drop rate. Yet here we are, people still complaining about the drop rates, with the OP’s suggestion that some parts should be a guaranteed drop.
Give an inch, people will try for a mile.
