Is there a way to compare with other players? I saw one “leaderboard” but it ranked by tier. Is “tier” in effect in SSF? If so, how can I see what “tier” I am? Is it up to me to initiate change to a different “tier?”
The default view is set to the highest tier greater rift completed.
You can view other leaderboards for achievements too on the left column.

‘tier’ rankings are just independent game testers rating various builds, using best-in-slot gear, for comparing. Most gamers use these to determine what builds they will work towards for that season. The ‘leaderboard’ should show you how you rank compared to other players, but I don’t see it up yet for Season 29 (unless all the computers I’m using are blocking it!).

Thanks! D2 had an easy-to-access, easy-to-understand list, I was hoping D3 does too. I will keep an eye out for it. Having a good time so far!
You should probably learn how to play, get oriented, then go for the advanced questions. Leaderboards are for greater rift clear times & levels.
Not much to learn coming from D2. I don’t think I’ve seen my health go down yet. Even 1 pixel. Like I already explained twice, I’m just looking for a feature that exists in D2. I’m not a tryhard, just like to see where I am in the ladder(season to you.)
Learn what stuff like “TIERS” are is what i mean. Its a natural process when you play.
I know what tears mean.
Unlike d2, the d3 ladder isn’t based on who has the most exp, or who hit max level first. Its based on who has cleared the highest GR the fastest.

Yeah it can lead to some heart pounding situations where you are trying to clear a gr but the time is about to run out!

as someone else said, tier relates to the highest Greater Rift level clear that your character(s) have made.
