Why am I seeing high level leader board barbs using Squirts Necklace? It seems like as a barb you are always getting hit by being in the middle of a mob so whats the point?
I assume you’re talking about 2+ man clears. If the Barb runs with a zMonk, the Monk can maintain a shield on the Barb that will allow him/her to maintain the Squirts buff.
could be, I was looking at the solo leader board but they may have just switched their gear out?
When you look at leaderboards be sure to choose “View hero details” and not the profile.
Squirt is usable solo too. For super speed GR (2-3 min) with Molten. And good with F+R too. Molten will help with more uptime and all mobs die very fast on super speed GR. You have 90%+ uptime of Squirt.
F+R + Squirt is than most powerfull combo.
Ofcourse you can’t use Squirt on higher GR (5-6min+) and pushing.
I might have to try this out on my speed build, I have a Phys double crit Squirts I’ve been dying to use.
I don’t get it, how can focus and restraint keep You from getting hit and keep squirts up? Further more, there is no primary spender for F&R, so it will only do the 50% of the resource spender. Please make sense as to how this combo is supposed to work.
Molten is what is helping keep the buff up (provides a health shield based on your life per second when you don’t take damage for a period of time). As far as how to proc F+R you just need to Furious Charge to gain resource and WW after to get the full 100% buff.

I do this for T16 but if I’m doing grifts I switch the squirts out for a flavor of time. Particularly in speeds - the increased pylon duration is GG for solo speeds.
Even with a level 120 Gizzard squirts was dropping far too often even in 95s solo.
I have just tried this and I agree for T16 it would be great, but for higher GR it isnt. With Flavour of time, I easily do a GR110 in 6 minutes. I tried it with F&R + Squirts, and the damage was great but I could not beat the RG as he was killing me like crazy. Using F&R, you have to give up either Zodiac or BOM, and both are needed (unless you use Messershmidts). I have tried this with Bul-kathos’s set, I will try this with Ambos and EF next to see if it is any better.
It is probably best farm build. It is not for T16 (for T16 is builds with much more movement speed and with avarice - there is no room for F+R, but Squirt is usefull for T16).
Some details to understand build:
- WW6, lamentation, Nemesis, Squirt, F+R, only rings and amulet without CDR
- WW Hurrican (it is faster with Hurrican), Insanity, Ferocity, Bloodbath, Marathon, Merciless a.
- passive: WM, Boon, Rampage and one of NoS/Berserker Rage/Pound of flash
- BoM is mandatory to stay alive and to keep up Squirt (Molten alone is not enough)
- in cube of course MSR
- weapon Ambo’s + EF (best combination, but Ambo’s + Doom or Sunkeeper works too), build works only with Ambo’s in hand (no room for Ambo’s in cube)
- lvl GR have to be low enough to maintain cooldowns with MSR (3 min run maximum, average run time around 2,5 min)
- don’t forget that with MSR you will not always have WoTB for whole RG fight (again don’t raise difficulty too high -to not have too long RG fight)
With 4k paragon I play GR104 in average 2,5 min.
For lower paragon use St. Archew’s Gage in cube. It helps very much with higher uptime of Squirt. If Squirt uptime is less than 75-80% of time, than use St. Archew’s Gage. If it is 75%+ with Mantle, than Mantle is better. For me Mantle is better.
It is build for super speed GR, thats way need some MS:
- Echoing fury is a bit better than Doom/Sunkeeper
- Marathon sprint
- Furious charge MA (proc F+R, proc BoM, higher speed)
- BR Ferocity
With all another builds I have less XP/hour.
NightRaven: You have GR110 in 6 min. With your paragon you should have around GR100-102 in 2,5 min (with F+R build). This is much more XP/hour than GR110 in 6 min. And much more loot too.
For normal rifts and bounties I am using:
- BK swords (Ambos in cube)
- I don’t use WoTB, especially on bounties has low uptime
- WW6 + lamentation + Chilanik’s + avarice + Squirt + Obsidian + Unity (for solo). BoM is not that good for T16, it slows down to proc it. Nemesis/Warzechian (Nemesis for rifts, Warz. for bounties)
- Boon, Wreath of l., Molten
- Marathon, Bravado, WC, Ferocity, Pound of flash
Another variant with Ambo’s + EF and with Rechel ring is good too. It have a bit better MS where is enough mobs, but lower MS without mobs (I like consistenci of speed with my build) and my build has a more dmg (Ambo’s variant is without lamentation - with WW5 + CC + Chilanik’s + MSR) and more tougness.

And some run with F+R + Squirt. This run was with a little modification, lower MS (without marathon, instead I use WC -> very high defense -> near 100% uptime of Squirt).
