Sprinter Conquest, What am I missing?

OK, I am at level 70.
Changed the hardness to Torment X
Did all the bounties in about 40 minutes.
But no completion.
What did I miss?

You missed that it’s not about the bounties, but the campaign

You can complete it in Normal or T16

I am not sure what that means. Sorry.

You must complete the Campaign (Story mode), from Acts 1 to 5, in less than one hour.
Regardless of difficulty level.

ah, OK. That sounds nearly impossible in Solo mode. Oh well, I was looking forward to completing all the stuff this season, getting a 3rd Conquest was the last one.

Besides the speed runs, the only other thing is Set Dungeons, which I hate.

I wonder if you could complete one of the other conquests you’ve already done, but in hardcore mode. (Or non-hardcore if you normally play hardcore). I’ve never tried it, but it theoretically should work for fulfilling “3 conquests.”

Reading comprehension

From what you are saying, looks like you have done “On a Good Day”, and “Years of War”.

Yes. “Masters of the Universe” is a pain and most people hate set dungeons, so I would definitely skip.

“Sprinter” is definitely the hardest conquest. For solo, you need a pretty pimped out speed build and very good knowledge of the crappy campaign. It is an hour long dedicated risk. I would avoid unless as there are two far, far, far, far better options:

Option 1, level a HC character and do 1 of the 2 conquests you have already done or even better:

Option 2, do “Boss Mode”. Yes it is a speed run, but it is stupid easy compared to “Sprinter”. You have already shown you can do a solo bounty run in under 40 minutes, so you definitely have the skills to do “Boss Mode” on the first try. Quick walkthrough for running solo:

  1. Vidian was added after the conquest was added and is not required, so don’t kill.
  2. Use your favorite bounty speed build.
  3. Don’t be afraid to give up a few dps items/skills for speed ones as this is on TX, but usually not necessary.
  4. A5 is the longest start there. 6 min is my max time on this. Any longer, probably restart.
  5. Getting Adria or Urzael as a bounty is usually a bonus.
  6. Progress through all bosses in A4, A3, A2, then A1.
  7. Should have 1 or 2 bosses down by the 10 min mark, else probably restart.
  8. The clock starts when the game is made and there is no pausing.
  9. Profit.

Might take you a try or 2, but it is really easy once you get it. This is by far my favorite Conquest. I do it 4 times every time it comes up (I shoot to rank on the Achievement LB). I also carry friends/noobs a few times during the season. My success rate is close to 100% excluding game issue fails.

Congrats to anyone that makes the leaderboards and can complete these conquests in a timely manner. I sure can’t.

Question - when you say the clock starts when the game is made - does that mean when you go into the obelisk or when you hit start game at the character screen? Sorry if this seems retarded but it’s a real question for me. To me the game starts when I make a rift or greater rift and jump into the obelisk. Is this correct? Thanks for any help.

Like other players I’m having great difficulty in completing a 3rd conquest. I’ve been trying Boss Mode in softcore but keep getting lost when hunting bosses like Adria and Urziel. I would risk using a map hack if I knew it worked, but I don’t want to lose my account. With my luck I’d be the only person banned for using one this season.

Lately I’ve been slowly upping a hardcore character so hopefully I can do the conquest that gets 3 gems to 65. That’s the easiest one for me to do so I’ll try it on hardcore. I think is only the second time I’ve tried hardcore and it’s going very slowly but that’s fine. Getting that 3rd conquest is the goal, I just hope I can finish it before the new season starts.

It’s very frustrating to be taking wrong turns all the time, and trying to make up time is impossible. Using a kitchen timer helps. Have probably tried Boss Mode at least 20 times with no luck. I’ll keep at it.

The other conquests other than the ones I’ve already done are just impossible for me. I’m not a very good player obviously and that’s fine. I like playing still. I’m lucky if I can complete one set dungeon with a Demon Hunter, I usually do the Sentry one. It’s about the only one I can complete. Like I said I’m not a very good player.

Anyway, please forgive for the rant, I realize its just a game and I don’t get upset about it but it can be frustrating. When it becomes too much I take a couple of days off then resume.

I can’t complete the alter either, at least not the last two seasons. I usually get stuck at 1600 blood shards or doing a 125 rift. I just can’t make it that high up, but that’s another rant for another day.

gg everyone and glhf.

It starts the moment you click to enter the game. So, you’d need to include load screen times into this.

As Alexismad stated, one trick many people use is to make sure Adria or Urzael is a bounty. This way, the direction you go shows up on the map. And the rest of his advice is pretty solid.

If you feel the hardcore route is the best way to go, go for it. It might not be faster for most people, but it provides an easy solution that just requires grind. The most efficient conquests for completing the season are not always the most friendly. (I.e. Sprinter is actually one of the 3 conquests to do if you were just trying to get this season out of the way asap, but it’s out of most people’s capability to benefit from it).

One thing to also consider is just joining people for Boss Mode. There are tricks to this, but at the very least, you could run it a couple times. One person just runs and doesn’t join in any boss fights, while the other person does the boss fight. Yes, it’s twice the time, but for those who are unable to complete Boss Mode solo, a runner not having to participate can easily clear 20 minutes, even with the worst maps and a slow running build.

Sprinter and Boss Mode are Conquests and have nothing to do with the rift/GR obelisk. They start when you are in the menu, hit “create” game, and your character appears on screen.

If you try either of these Conquests, make sure you set up your character to run in a game, exit, then make the game you intend to try the Conquest in.

So 8 of the boss maps are static, the other 8 can vary either in map or where the start/boss entrance is. Adria and Urzael are 2 of the very hard ones with bad wrong ways to go. Diablo and Izual can be bad, but they are easier to course correct. Cydaea can vary, but her maps are either clockwise or CCW. Ghom is pretty easy to course correct. Butcher is similar to Diablo and Izual which they can be bad, but usually you can correct fairly quickly. Spider Queen can be a pain, but is a “be familiar with the map”.

For Urzael or Adria, you may need to practice a bit and this is why I usually start in A5 because you can reload until 1 or the other is a bounty.

I’ll be on later today, add me and msg me in game. I can walk you through it or carry you on it, depending on what you want. Once you get the hang of this one, it will easy become a instant go to.

We were all noobs at one time or another. Like I said above, hit me up and I’ll help you out. I am casually running Visions at this point this season, so you won’t inconvenience me.

The Sprinter/Speed Racer Conquest description can be confusing. (What was Blizzard thinking? — Oh… yeah…) The description just says to complete Acts I through V in 1 hour. And since Seasons have to be completed in Adventure Mode, who would think any different?

If you want to try it, make sure you change your Game Settings to Campaign Mode → Act I, The Fallen Star and set the Game Difficulty to Normal. (To make it easier). The timer starts as soon as you click   START GAME   .

That’s what I did.

Just in case you want to watch someone do the Sprinter Conquest:

If you’re still up for trying the sprinter conquest I have a very speedy crusader build - it’s much easier with 2 or 3 people and I’ve been trying to complete it but struggling solo

I was able to do the x3 Conquests with the following ones:

  • CAN’T STOP
    x3 legendary gems to 65

  • WORLDS APART
Kill the list of bosses in 20mins from game start

  • DYNASTY
Reach Greater Rift 55 Solo while wearing SIX of the following set items.
This one is actually quite easy. the 1st five you can do on one character because it does not restrict based on set dungeons. Then level yourself up another character and get it geared enough to solo GR55 and gather 1 set put it on and you are done!

It’s even easier than that because you can do it on one class by using the Witch Doctor set Zuni on a class it’s not intended for with a LoD-like build. Not using a LoD gem but using items with enough multipliers to be able to complete a GR 55 without a set or LoD or by mixing it with a set for your class like a 2-piece GoD/5-piece Zuni with a Hungering Arrow build for the DH.

And you don’t need to make a Witch Doctor to farm the set just by gambling mojos and using the cube to transform the Zuni mojos to other parts of the set.
