Sound effects cutting each other off

With the recent patch, when there are a lot of sound effects playing all at once, they cut each other off and/or distort. As if the system can no longer play all the clips at the same time.

I checked my sound settings and nothing has changed there.

This is really annoying with my current Firebird/Twister build… I assumed it was just me though.

I’m also getting this… playing a barb solo.

I usually play without sound (using *.dll from Hearthstone), as D3 was crashing for me on 3 different PC’s with sound issues.

Although that was supposed to be patched a long time ago, it didn’t help me whatsoever.

What you are describing up there might have made it worse though.

Same here, no matter which class is played. Sound is distorted.

Tell me: is there any kind of QA going on at Blizzard?

The problem with missing item names in other languages has been fixed. Now please turn your attention to the sound problems.

And while you’re at it: have your web department fix the players’ profiles. As is now usual to the begin of a new season, they do no longer work and give error 500. Only the career page seems to work.

I have to say: For a AAA publisher this is extremely poor performance.

I’m back again. I’d like to add that for a while I was getting no noise issues. Then I realised I’d been playing the 32-bit edition in the time that I no longer had sound issues.

After disabling 32-bit, the sound issues have returned though I haven’t experienced any crashes yet.

Hopefully this will help someone narrow down the cause.
