I don’t like the character models (not faithful recreations, I find them disrespectful);
I don’t like the removal of TCP IP and Open Battle Net (I find forcing everyone onto the Closed Battle Net for multiplayer and killing off mods to be a crazy, control freak move);
I don’t like glide wrappers not working for the classic graphics;
I don’t like the lack of really helpful accessibility features (despite blog posts talking in lengths about accessibility and modernization) such as more modern interface, action bar, hotkeys, that allow me to cast with the keyboard rather than the mouse. The dated interface is a major turnoff, I can’t see new players getting into the game.
I don’t like loading screens when I enter caves.
I might consider the title in the future… if at least some of the above changes for the better.
C ya in the D3 forum section.
Oh well man. Keep checking back to see what has changed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. (And thanks for not making a big temper tantrum whinepost about it)
I would honestly wait to see what the open beta brings before making your final decision. There may be updates in store to address the major issues with the early access beta. This applies to anyone thinking about refunding, especially for any performance related issues.
I hope blizzard is going to keep on working on diablo 2 resurrected. I love the game and the new big server for trading, great decision.
But the desynch is still the main issue im having with the game…I thought after this game gets new servers it will go away, but in closed beta theres still chargedins hitting you from across the screen…(and theres probably going to be invisible fireballs and especially bone spirits from 5screens away)
I really hope they can fix this. Nevertheless still looking forward to first upcoming season without massive botting
The loading screens are due to the new graphics loading. There’s a whoooooooole lot more graphics data to load vs the original game. Todays computers can load the entire original game into RAM, which makes loading instant, because it’s already loaded!
Loading times used to be a thing too back when the original game first released.
A NVMe solid-state drive is ideal. Second best is a SATA SSD. I don’t recommend playing on a platter hard disk at all.
Rykker showed in his recent video that their is a chance for the classic attire to return at release when the game launches.
This is a reasonable reason to what to refund. Not having Lan play is a hard pill to swallow. At the end of the day, it’s not hard to understand why Blizzard did it. The users that took of advantage of the alpha is what ultimately influenced Blizzard to make there decision. It is odd that Rob F mentioned it would be at release.
3.Can you elaborate on this?
I don’t see the PC version having these problems. The console version yes, but that doesn’t mean clubs won’t fix that issue. PC does have hotkeys, Lama SC was using them on his stream.
VV stated that the loading screens were not fixed from alpha, but will be come release.
For that reason I tried controller, despite I bought on pc… And…
Hell I love it. I think I always wanted to play D2 with a controller, it’s surprisingly precise, and the sensations are way better, with sticks and vibrations. I tried it because I wanted instand cast when I push the buttons, and omg it’s good.
Being forced to select the skill then click the mouse was always a pain for me.
Playing this incredibly gorgeous game on an huge oled screen in the sofa is priceless, I was about to buy a console dozen times to do it on d3.
But I never really liked D3.
God I love this remaster, I already burnt quite a few hours in the beta.
Still some things to fix but damn :
Hell of a work vicarious !
They might patch some serious gpu usage issues but for the most part I expect the open to be almost the same build. Same thing they did with D3. I do hope they have a good blog setup for after beta and address what to expect for launch as it’s hard to judge by the beta.
If anything, they need to tone down the grass a bit, or at least give us the option to do so. It looks really good, but that grass is devastating on the GPU.
Despite our differences, it is a shame to see you leave. You had true passion for the game. That is admirable.
Was even considering doing some runs with you at some point. Shame.
well, let’s just skip it for the moment. They slightly changed amazon though.
yep, that was a blunder
i dont quite get that point. i saw your thread before, but is it something hardware specific or did i just not notice it?
i am sincerly hoping that their main development branch includes a truckload of interface overhauls. If not, i agree. The create/join interface must be a placeholder.
i honestly thought it would be worse. I have almost zero load times and the load times are even shorter when traveling frequently. Could this be a hardware issue? (not saying that it shouldnt be improved, but there is some wiggle room) Do you have an ssd? maybe it is a ram issue? My rig is not high-end, so it might be affordable to reduce this point.
