No, it’s not just that… From what we have seen so far, they have recycled a lot of things from Diablo III: Stash UI, Items UI, Models + Animation, Gold sound, Blood splatters, Area/Terrains shapes, Mana bar, Minimap, etc etc etc. We were told it’d look like Diablo II more than Diablo III, but it really isn’t the case…
Game looks amazing to me, I do not know what you’re talking about.
it might have to be due to the release on PS4 and XBOX. not sure 100% but I can only assume that. I’ve myself posted the exact same thing and stated that the zones still look to be forced paths and instance like.
For Diablo 3 they said it was an open world with randomized dungeon instances… does that ring you a bell?
It looks like it will be terrible.
- Looks like a Diablo 3 reskin.
- Looks as linear as Diablo 3 was.
Honestly, nothing was that impressive. Seemed like 1/4 of the people cheered, but hell, people cheered crazy for Fallout 76 too.
The trailer starts off strong, but who cares about some weak weak weak weak humans when we will be back to hurling mountains as the great and powerful nephalems. The it ends on summoning _____ just using 3 sacrifices, ARE YOU FREAKING INSANE, BLIZZARD?. What a joke.
Then there is the old man trailer which just felt like garbage, probably from that very deep off putting voice. Old guy must be the Dragonborn.
The promies… like PvP. Well, we all know to expect 1 shotting and such all over again. The combat will again be all lazy aoe…
Man, expectations were set to a safe mediocre level, and walking away with low expectations.
Maybe its cause its also being designed for PS4 and Xbox, those are totally not out of date. They were below average hardware withing 1-2 years. What happened to Blizzard with: " We’re Still a PC Developer First, We’ve Just Communicated It Poorly". Yep, you’re just full of BS.
D2 is a thing of the past so get over it and I will wait until D4 is done before passing judgement, I like the direction it is going in. I just hope they nail replay-ability and its not greater rift grinding
Feedback !== judgement
I’m seeing red flags, I’m raising them.
Couldn’t agree more, unfortunately. It feels like a console game, it feels like Diablo 3 lol…
Glad you’ve played to let us know this astute observation.
I’m guessing you are not aware of Twitch
It’s more console oriented game than D3.
Nah, I am.
I just don’t choose to make baseless statements by living vicariously through others.
Whatever that means… Anyone with eyes can make the observation I made.
I can’t figure what, but I feel something’s missing from the game, visually. It looks a bit flat to me.
That could change later on when they develop it more but that’s how I feel about it atm.
Sounds like you are passing a judgement… that you like it. And that’s fine. It doesn’t mean that other people can’t offer constructive criticism. Constructive being the operative word.
It probably means he’d rather test drive a car instead of watching a GoPro of a professional drive a car to make the decision of “Should I buy this car?”.
I don’t like how the items are like D3. The color and schematics of them is too identical. Diablo 2 had the feel of items and the items here just don’t stick out at all. It is kind of hard to explain it but as a die hard D2 player, you would understand.
I know right… hopefully they are only re-using assets for the demo.
Yeah. Orange affixes on legendaries immediately made me think of D3 itemization. Theres also mention of a salvage mechanic on loot. There’s a lot of commonality with D3 here.
It could be that Blizzard were really feeling the pressure to show something, anything, after last year. That’s what I’m hoping is going on. Hopefully, the long-term plan here is to make Diablo 4 its own game.
I compared Last Epoch, Wolcen and D4 together. They all look fairly similar. D4 edges out on top but not by much. I think we were all expecting a bit more on the graphical side though. To me it felt more gray than “dark”.
They could’ve done a lot more with the environment. I saw some corpses laying around and they looked more like gray smudges.
I really feel they need to make things bigger or bring the camera in a bit so we can see them. There should be more corpses. The mother of demons is back. There should be death and destruction everywhere. There should be a pit of human bodies that the fallen have to clean up or something.
Making a game “dark” is more than increasing the contrast. It’s violent, things are running at you, the demons are loud, it should almost scare you. You’re bringing your hero into treacherous territories.
Those boss rooms… oof. They were even talking about the butchers lair in the announcements. I didn’t see anything like that in the gameplay.
Honestly, the environment didn’t seem a whole lot more than D3.
